New Everton Stadium - Hill Dickinson Stadium

Yesterday was the first time it felt like "home." When the place is bouncing, it's some place to watch togger. I'd say that was among the best atmospheres we've had at a home game in years. It just goes to show that whats always been needed is fight from the team and a bit of attacking intent to get the fans going. Give the fans some hope and the place with be buzzing every week.

Great atmosphere tonight apart from one issue in Club View where one fella called the police on a young lad suspected of being a chelsea fan when we were 2-0 up. The fella was screaming at the police to kick the lad out and our fans telling him to calm down because we were 2-0 and the lad had done nothing all game to provoke it.

I think he was trying to make a point after the arsenal game and just looked like a tit especially when he was giving our own fans verbals for telling him to pipe down and enjoy the fact we were 2-0 up!

Great atmosphere besides that slightly sour note and we march towards europe
Yeah I saw that. I just assumed there must of been a few of them there and was surprised to see just one young lad being ejected on his own. Did look a bit weird.

I agree that they are forced and somehow against traditional culture, but if we want atmosphere every match, there is likely no other realistic solution. For me it is not right that I usually hear our away fans more than our home fans.
I have always been against a forced 'singing section' but definitely coming round to the idea. I think over the years we had an organic one at Goodison with the street end and it may well be the same in time with the South. Doesn't need to be constant droning, thats not how we roll, but be nice to have a section where everyone is comfortable getting right into as not everyone is confident enough to belt out chants when the rows around them are not bothering so if you have signed up for a lively section you are clearly someone that wants to sing that may not if they were in a quieter section, so why not get all them together and get a more concentrated noise like an away.

The best atmosphere I’ve experienced for as long as I can remember. Everything was perfect, RS losing, 5.30 kick off so fans few drinks but not too tired 😂, new gear in the club shop, Chelsea charge and pre game FPL fume, coach greet, sunny day but most importantly the team started well. They came out and were aggressive to win the ball back and the crowd responded.

We saw all the best features of the ground and the walk back into the city after the game was great. My kids were beaming and said it was the best night they’ve had.

Nice touch on the stroll back into town

No, as most wins are away from home.
You do realise that I wasn't being serious don't you? You'd have to be a fool to think that the stadium we play in has had any effect on us at all. That was my point, it was absolutely asinine when people claimed that moving had hurt us. Its made no difference at all to our home form. I've simply reversed their own daft logic.

I’ll add some context to this. We do get a few away fans in club view because of seat unique. It’s happened most games and fans have generally been respectful. There were a couple of Chelsea fans sat in front of the lad who got kicked out who had bought scarfs and were chatting away to people around them etc.

The lad who got thrown out was just a kid who I don’t think was English. He made the mistake of wearing a full Chelsea track suit and was sat at the end of the row so visible to the stewards. One steward came up and had a look first (thought there was something going on behind us at first), then a load of stewards and police. I don’t *think* the lad who stood up and shouted grassed but whereas all the other fans around were trying to convince the stewards to leave him be (don’t think he spoke English, wouldn’t say boo to a goose, looked petrified) the other lad stood up and started having a go. Fairly aggressive. Might have just been the ale etc. It was weird behaviour in the context of us being 2-0 up, it was one of the first time club view were singing too 😂 and everyone was in good spirits.

A few of us had a go and then it all settled down. Ndiaye’s goal helped.

As I said earlier, we do get a few away fans in that area I’m assuming due to seat unique. Generally it’s people with friends who are blues. A lot of the time it’s young families (there was a family with a young girl of about 6 right behind all this - hopefully shes a blue now).

I have worried about certain games like the derby were there is clearly more potential for trouble etc. That’s been some of my feedback to the club on club view.

But it shouldn’t hsve been directed at the lad. Fair enough if fans are kicking off/celebrating etc but he was just sat there watching the game and probably didn’t know it wasn’t the done thing.

if they were 2-0 up i could understand the frustration but who cares if he isn’t causing trouble and we are doing well

Yeah from what i could tell it seemed like the fella shouting to kick them out was told to enjoy the fact we were 2-0 up instead of focusing on trying to get a young lad thrown out who was causing no harm.

The derby will be an interesting test of how it’s policed for sure
