New Everton Stadium - Hill Dickinson Stadium

Maybe I'm overly-optimistic here - but I think this is probably one of the rare cases where the free market should figure this out, as long as those in charge are sufficiently competent.

Ultimately, Everton want to sell out every game - and it's in the club's interest to do that, which means it's in the club's interest to try and smooth out any ticketing issues.

This first season is a bad test case for a couple of reasons.

Firstly, the club had to some extent guess at what demand would be like and how fans would manage with the changes to ticketing.

Secondly, it's the first season in a new ground - so they will have been thinking about maximising revenue from those wanting to experience the ground for the first time in its first season.

Now, they have basically a season's worth of data to work with - and we'll be going into our first regular season there next year, without any of the fanfare.

Accommodations will be made, I'm sure.
Never in a million years will the club sell out consistently while they persist with Seat Unique.

I genuinely don't believe it's that complicated here,You buy a ticket,you watch that match...it's gone on for 150 years.

You offer a fair value, with ease of a access to tickets and that's the best way to fill the house.

You doing need to go down the data analyst route in my opinion.

Breaks my hearts seeing pockets of seats still available for big games.

I think we've started down a dangerous path towards alienating future generations of Blues.

That's just my humble, hopefully am wrong.

They
Don't
Care.

TFG bought a distressed concern from a want a way owner on the cheap
They're not white knights dreaming the Ted Lasso / Wrexham dream

Lucky for them they got Moyes who steadied the ship.

Build the Company turnover up so it looks really ace on the books.
Pick your time
Sell it on for big profit.
That is essentially what the Wrexham guys are doing too, Ryan Reynolds isn’t there because he grew up dreaming of being Mickey Thomas, he’s there to grow an asset and ultimately make a jaw dropping amount of money out of it. As with our owners, one of the components in doing that is to run the club in a way that maximises the chances of on field success, so it’s no bad thing!

I know they don't.

I'd still like to display my dissatisfaction with it all though,if that's ok.

Less noughts on their investment though...and they do turn up and seem to enjoy it, so there is a chance they'll have some emotional skin in the game/club

Unlike our absentee owners.

I remember reading somewhere, that eventually the 'city centre' would in effect migrate north, looks like its started
Developments like this mean more infrastructure to facilitate and maintain it. That absolutely guarantees some more rail somewhere.

I mentioned it months ago now, but if I could (as a private investor or on behalf of the club) I'd buy a plot of land on the outskirts of the BMD area and build a secure high rise car park. Football, rugby, concerts, similar events and the nearby hotels all will require transport, offering secure parking at a fair rate nearly city centre is a wonder stroke of access and planning.

It's about maximising the cash flow, to make it look good for a TFG (double your money?) sell on
Which means selling every ticket.

I'm not convinced you're right about their motive, but it doesn't matter either way.

They want the stadium full every week.

It's not even a matter of "they've got the money for the tickets, they don't care if you turn up," because they'd rather you were there spending more money on food and drink.

Whether you view their motives cynically or otherwise, streamlining ticketing is very much in the club's interest.

Yeah, Seat Unique hasn't worked.

Well, maybe it has on some level - but as I said earlier, the club would rather people were in those seats, even if they are already paid for. It makes the 'product' better having a full stadium, and if someone is in the seat, they are more likely to be spending more on food and drink.

Seat Unique will always have a place for those who can only make a few matches a season and are prepared to pay 20 quid more for certainty. But they will definitely need to refine it because empty seats mean somebody has overpriced tickets somewhere.

I think this "membership" thing is a right scam and is where they really need to start this discussion, mind. Seat Unique wouldn't be half as attractive to the travelling supporter if membership wasn't such a waste of money to that person who makes two games a year.

Yeah, the membership thing is incredibly cynical.

As I've moaned about plenty in this thread, I had to shell out £200 just so my family would have a chance of maybe getting some tickets to watch a few games together this season.

I think the membership has to work in tandem with individual ticket prices to address the issue you describe.

I don’t like the membership fee concept but something has to be in place so the club can be confident that Evertonians are buying tickets in home areas. For example, I was amongst many Evertonians in the Fulham stand because I could buy a ticket without being a member but not all home supporters are as accommodating as Fulham’s. The membership fee has to be at a level that deters most away fans for a one off game but does not act as a disincentive for home fans who attend infrequently…that’s a fine balancing act.

A solution requires pragmatism not just profit focus but I’m not confident that our owners/leadership are able to address this with a system that suits our supporter base rather than “borrow” more draconian policies from other PL clubs.

That's the plan. 100% it's the plan.
