New Everton Stadium - Hill Dickinson Stadium

There's empty seats. Not just a few either. It never happened at Goodison and it's not the extra capacity.

The club have got it wrong and will, hopefully, surely be working to rectify.
Empty, but not all unsold. Honestly don’t think the club will care and it’s something we will have to possibly live with. Any event, football club or otherwise only cares about ‘paid attendance’. Whether you show up or not is not an issue. Money is in the bank, kerching.

Yeah it was just on the tickets sale on the website mate. Normally I dont get access to see what's available as I'm not a member. But for Burnley I had access. There was only a few single seats scattered in upper South and quite a lot in Upper North. They'd gone by the time the day of the game was.

They should do a general at the ticket office

They're losing money by all the ones not selling

It's mad as it's when were having these events you buy and they sell out

So follow suit

Both of them I think mate.

The thing I find slightly strange is that the left over seats go to general sale (presumably those not sold in the ballot, not taken by supporters clubs, handed back by third party sellers etc). They seem to hold off on listing the ST resale tickets until all those are gone or pretty much gone. But then you have to be a member to purchase the resale tickets from what I can make out. Which doesn't make sense as surely if you worked your way down to general sale then why lift the last batch of tickets back up to members only again if you really want to get people in.

It also looks like you have to pay adult price for all the resale tickets still. There are still no concession prices on those.

Yeah mate, I dont get the chance to see the resale ones but someone posted a video of them and there loads, whereas when I checked general sale there was nowhere near as many. Deffo a backwards way of doing it as the general sale ones it was difficult to get 2 together which if you cant, can put people off, yet on resale theres rows and rows sometimes all available.

Seats TOGETHER !! for the Chelsea game without a m'ship? You'll be lucky! 😄
Oh they would've bought the membership to get the tickets. It was more if they bought the membership just to find out none were available, which is the case, it would potentially be a waste of £35 each for them.

A few seats together available on the resale at the moment

For my next uninformed question.

Several season ticket holders are complaining (and rightly so) that they can't transfer tickets for a specific match to their parents, children etc without them buying a membership, which is of course a ridiculous situation.

If it is a family member or someone you really trust, can't you just provide them with your logon details for the app so they can use the ticket? i've done that before with ticketmaster tickets. I obviously wouldn't do it with someone random though

Nearly all Prem clubs can't transfer without m'ship. At Man Utd, get found out, ( and they check ) you lose your ST. AND more than FOUR transfers even with m'ships, you also lose your ST. 15 home games MUST be attended.

Wow, that's harsh. But in the case of giving someone else your logon details, it's not really transferring your ticket. Surely they don't check the ID of everyone that goes in, so how would they know if it was me or my dad/son/brother that used it?

That would be a good reason ☹️

I wonder if the club will look at all the empty seats this season and perhaps increase the number of season tickets available? Would satisfy a lot of fans, reduce the number of empty seats and perhaps generate a bit of FOMO if less seats are available for the public.

There have only been a lot of empty seats recently due to the umpteenth midweek game in a row against unglamorous opposition. If a few of those games had been on a weekend it would be a different story.

You don't retrieve your ticket via an app. It is registered to your phone, so you have to give up that whilst they are at the game. As others have said, you could buy a burner phone and register your season ticket to that number, but it's hassle if you only miss one or two games.

I think the main issue of concern is the fact that so many resale tickets are not getting sold (which would be a bigger kerching), especially in the first season of the new stadium. For some games there have been lots of empty seats evident. Thankfully being blue seats, they stick out far less than at some other grounds, but it's not a great look for a new stadium. Yes, there have been lots of night games involving less attractive opposition, and the ongoing issues with transferring tkts certainly isn't helping, but it could simply be that the general sale and resale prices are set far too high, or more worryingly that there isn't that surplus demand (certainly not to justify those prices)..... despite all the talk of massive waiting lists etc. There is also the on-going problems with transport that is deterring some fans (especially those with mobility issues), especially for night games. Of course, our home form hasn't been great too, so there are multiple factors. The ST renewal and new take-up numbers will be interesting. If, as rumoured, a lot of ST holders drop-out and the new ST prices are increased too much, then those waiting lists could vanish altogether. For any new stadium's tkt pricing strategy to be sustainable, there has to be strong demand. Empty seats do not indicate that, and the club need to be careful as there could be several knock-on effects: Expensive corporate packages look slightly less attractive, when there is greater avaiability of cheaper tkts; It means less food/drink sales on the concourse; Generally less atmosphere in the stadium; Increases the prospect of away fans infiltrating home sections.

"New stadium effect" has given the club's owners a platform to really squeeze their brand new asset. Imo, they have pushed their tkt pricing envelope too far. The transport issues also need resolving or we could be in danger of losing many of our older fans (which is a large proportion of our fanbase) due to poor accessibility.
