New Everton Stadium - Hill Dickinson Stadium

Given the magnitude of the France collection, it's incredible that the club, once again, has managed to undersell our influence on world football. Honestly, the history of Everton traces the history of football. Think of all those firsts... It's a massive own goal not to have a museum at the new stadium. It doesn't have to be huge, but I really can't believe it couldn't be housed on the new site somewhere.

There should be a museum - but then again the most important stuff in the collection are the ledgers which contain committee/boardroom minutes and they're all digitised and online now for free.

That said, the pump house should NOT be allowed to become another paying attraction like a food and bevarages outlet. If they do that it's a disgrace.

IIRC the club talked a good talk about two years ago that the pump house would be a history centre-cum-memorial to the locality we were stepping into.

No doubt that was about as sincere an assurance as the Transport Plan.

It would only appeal to a tiny % of football fans. The programme and ledger collection should be digitised. Any decent museum constantly evolves with displays of kits trophies, photos, historic events, interactive experiences etc but bar images of a few "firsts" and finals no one wants to sit in a museum and look at match programmes never mind read them.

Last year I asked the club if they could maybe utilise the old pump house to show off the Everton collection. For those that don't know it's the largest collection of memorabilia in the world dedicated to one football club, and was collected over many years by Dr David France, who later sold it to Everton. The club informed me that after advice, the Pump House could not be brought up to the standards of a modern museum. The Collection is now housed in the Liverpool Records Office in the Central Library on William Brown Street.
The trophy collection is being moved into the Trinity bar. The pump house is being turned into a restaurant/bar

That's such a lame excuse to say it's not up to the standards of a museum, from my professional background that has 0 substance, it's just an excuse to turn it into a commercial outlet.

I'd rather they just admit that.

I'm not talking merely about the France collection. I am talking about creating a museum of our history. So, we put our kits, trophies, photos, historic events, and interactive experiences in, add a few select exhibits from the France collection and start taking genuine pride in our history and cultural significance.

I was at the Old Trafford museum on Sunday and the National Football Museum on Monday. There is absolutely no reason at all that Everton couldn't create a similar attraction.

We definitely should but point I'm making is the David France collection in itself would be very dull viewing albeit bits and pieces of it add colour to the story.
