New Everton Stadium - Hill Dickinson Stadium

By the way, given we like to sing about "if you know your history", it would be unforgivable if the club does not open a museum at the new stadium.
Last year I asked the club if they could maybe utilise the old pump house to show off the Everton collection. For those that don't know it's the largest collection of memorabilia in the world dedicated to one football club, and was collected over many years by Dr David France, who later sold it to Everton. The club informed me that after advice, the Pump House could not be brought up to the standards of a modern museum. The Collection is now housed in the Liverpool Records Office in the Central Library on William Brown Street.

British Gas man spoke about that on the OS.

"We are exploring commercial opportunities connected to events at the stadium, including the usage of the hydraulic tower."

So that'll be a Cafe Nero or Pizza Express then.

It should have been built into the stadium then.

Surely it’s not that hard - a few stud walls, cabinets and a false ceiling

Or combine it with the club shop

This I can understand, on the security front, space aside (they don't have to display everything)...it's all highly unfortunate. There's open land not far South of the stadium though and I'll leave it at that.

No one wants to look at a load of old programmes and ledgers.

It might not be a mass event attraction as it is, but it is very sizable and a comprehensive collection that needs to be stored and exhibited in such a way that people can easily see and access it. This could take the form of a combined reference library and museum, with immersive experiences created using the collection. Perhaps it could be housed in Goodison Park's disused office/hospitality/concourse spaces and be part of that Stadium tour as a living/working Football club/stadium museum. Giving it greater footfall in its historic and natural home.

It is the greatest club collection in the world.
Include many, many historical items that would interest supporters from other clubs as well.
Like their teams' earliest programmes.

As a football fan I would be interested in visiting most teams' museum. I've been to Man United's, wouldn't go to theirs obviously, but would happily see Arsenal's, Spurs' etc.

We've had this collection for years now.
It's an absolute waste to not permanently display it.

It's a shame it's not on display somewhere in the same way that any collection like that which so much effort has been put into should be seen, but the fact is it would probably cost a lot more money to display it than the club would get back from doing it. The number of fans who are going to travel across the world to see their club's first ever programme is tiny, let's be honest.
