New Everton Stadium - Hill Dickinson Stadium

watching the spurs game here one of my minor gripes is how you can barely see any of the fans in the south stand from the tv angle when we score

I’m not sure if its cos of the steepness of the stand, or because of the accessibility section (not bemoaning this) but its a shame only the first few rows seem to be visible when we score that end
not half disappointed with that south stand , each to there own and all that but what I thought it was gonna be to how it turned out

It looks very poor… like scoring into a sea of concrete with some sprinkling of fans

Compare it vs. Goodison:

There's no doubt about it, visually it looks terrible.

My bugbear is the away section looks about the best position in the stadium for that sort of impactful in-yer-face coverage.

Not really sure why anyone at the club thinks fans would want to hear from him. Didn’t even know (or care) he’d been appointed or the role existed.

Any guff about commercial revenues etc should and i expect will be coming from Anus Kinnear (he strikes me as someone who will be front and centre of any good news stories), anything about football performance and transfers via him and / or Moyes.

Anyone else, who cares surely?

Thought the same before twigging - wheel out someone else for price rises.

Using a ‘machine’ to cross reference / recognize features from an existing data set is in itself artificial intelligence no?

Facial Recognition technology uses Artificial Intelligence (AI) to identify individuals in a digital image (such as a video or photo). This technology relies upon an algorithm which is trained to detect what a face is, and will then be trained to recognise faces and to distinguish one facial image from another. It does so by measuring distinguishable features of an individual’s face. This creates a unique code, known as a ‘face print’ or ‘biometric template’ from a photo or video. Live Facial Recognition (LFR) uses this technology to assess real-time, live video footage of crowds who are passing a camera and automatically compares the images of those in the crowd against a database of people on a predetermined database of images, known as a watchlist.

Forces tend not to lean too heavily into mentioning AI in relation to LFR maybe because:

Under the AI Act in Europe, authorities’ use of live facial recognition is generally prohibited and limited only to exceptional circumstances, such as preventing an imminent terror attack, where safeguards apply such as a clear legal basis in national law and judicial authorisation.’

Either way, I'm not against criminals being arrested via AI myself. Far too many are causing chaos and bragging about not being caught.

Got to be honest i prefer Goodison. We have been poor there too the last couple of seasons but that place was a proper bull pit at times and everyone was scared of going there. I think some other teams look forward to going to Dickinson now tbh and not just because of our home form but because they know it's not like Goodison as well.

Hopefully one day it will feel like home again but we are a long way away from that yet i think.
