New Everton Stadium - Hill Dickinson Stadium

With all the talk of our kick of times this year, and lack of Sat 3pm, thought I’d have a little gander at the spread of home KO times across the league. This is Home games only, up to the end of Feb.

Aston Villa had their first 3pm home game in over a year, yesterday. That's diabolical!

Tbh, on occasion I have used similar at Old Trafford in the past. I've gotten away with it because we didn't score, and more importantly it seemed to be largely made-up of the well-healed/touristy types, and away from the knuckleheads. A whole block of away fans would be an entirely different proposition, so I hope that's not the case.
When we played Leeds, I saw four Leeds fans ejected by police, so they won't allow it. However, as you say, it's much harder to for a large contingent.

The facial recognition roll out is because, as I said, this game is a real concern. If it ever kicks off on the plaza, it'll be crazy as exits are limited.

My seat is in 245 Upper North stand and when we are exiting the stadium we merge with the away fans. I have got to admit its not a great idea as trouble could easily kick off. Against Leeds on the way out I was minding my own business and a Leeds fan growled at me to move away as I was too close to him, my response was why mate will I catch something. I realise it was not the best reply but I was lucky that the lady he was with and a few other fans around us all laughed, which lightened the mood. I am convinced it will happen and hopefully not Monday night !!

A relatively steep stand plus rails will always look relatively sparse in 1:1 ratios. The rail is almost at shoulder height for the row below, means that it can be partially seen between bodies. As said, painting them blue might hide that effect a bit. At greater than 1:1 ratio, there would be a second step between rows, in theory allowing 30-50% more bodies per row..... but that will require a legislation change and proper German style rail seats to be fitted. Some people also contend that the concourse area is already congested at current capacity, so that might also be an issue.

I haven't been in the lower tier yet. I keep meaning to go down the stairs just to see what its like at half-time, but being in the South-west corner, it would take several minutes to get there at half-time as the South stand upper is really congested. The island concessions take up too much room and most of the toilets have too few urinals, meaning the queues completely fill the inner concourse at half-time. If you're near the South-east corner, you can at least move around to the east stand, which is far less congested as it has two levels of concouse serving the upper tier. Unfortunately, people seem to be more attracted to the windows of the south stand concourse area.
Are fans allowed between upper and lower (specifically in the south stand)?

Should be. But I thought they split the stand in two?

I've a couple of takeaways from my first visit. I was in the SW corner upper SS. Too many steps and for safety it should have hand rails down the centre of the steps I think it's doable.

The fans here were great and I lost my voice.

Could do with the same rails on the upper that are on the lower just to make it safer.

The lower "safety standing " looks all to cocck. It's a botch up job. Plus people were clearly sitting not standing.

The concourse seemed much tighter than the lower Gwladys Street. Was only there pre kick off. Too many steps too to the seat. I'd be reluctant to go that high in future.

You can walk down the central stairwell in the south stand and look through the fence into the lower tier's concourse.

Thats very misleading that.
They have calculated that to 13 home games in the new stadium.

Try going back for the full 20 odd years the Prem has been going.
You'll find we have been one of the cheapest and some seasons no increase at all.
We've always been one of the more affordable clubs around.

Because GP was not in a massive heap of debt.

Would love to know what sort of impact having as many 3pm Sat KOs as Brighton would have had on our home form at our new stadium.
All a bit speculative but don’t think having so few will have been beneficial for bedding in and building atmosphere there.

Yeah looks like Sat 3pm kicks are lowest for EL Clubs (AV and NF) however we are then next lowest for that kick off time and we have no Europe. Wondering whether that’s been driven by the sparkle of us being in a new stadium?
