"The deployment is intended to help identify people wanted for serious offences"
Is this for spitting chewies out around memorial stones?
I figure it's intelligence led - seems to be rarely used;

Apparently it's for people swearing"The deployment is intended to help identify people wanted for serious offences"
Is this for spitting chewies out around memorial stones?
Most likely as much to do with training the AI model as actual police work.Dave Lewis of Everton stadium safety management "We work in close partnership with Merseyside Police and other agencies to ensure proportionate and intelligence-led measures are in place for high-profile matches".
I've seen news reports on these facial recognition deployments in town centres and they're there for days trawling with a very low rate of recognition.
I dont think this is a serious crimes facing operation at all. Like when they deploy them in town centres it's a way of cowing people and making them feel uneasy (and in town centres - maybe at a stretch - putting off shop-lifters).
High profile match policing is not what this is about: nothing they can do can prevent a major kick off of violence between Everton or United if it happens. And that's what the implication for their deployment on Monday night is touted as.

I’m made up he’s still a fan. Imagine losing all that money and still being able to cheer them on.

The article includes 'individuals subject to court orders', and this could easily include football banning orders; also, have a read into MAPPA.I figure it's intelligence led - seems to be rarely used;
