New Everton Stadium - Hill Dickinson Stadium

They must have took the results of them never ending consultations they done pre
Build and lashed them in the mersey

Utter bollocks all that was.

The way Meis was supposed to be influenced by what the fans wanted when we all know he presented a fait accompli compromised by the logistics of the dock.

Also - and the one that boils my piss more than anything else - the massive play they made on being 'the Fourth Grace' when the reality is the stadium is hardly presented as such and is more often than not presented with that big glass Uttoxter Leisure Centre frontage with the ambulance chasers horrible 'kin name foregrounding a 💩 treatment works.

A great sales pitch they made about the stadium, but the outcome has been less than what they promised.

I like the stadium by the way; it's atmospheric (or can be) and I think it's a great location if projected the right way.

But Everton have spun a story here they didn't even have control over the outcome of. It's leaving a lot of people feeling very bitter...and that's all beside the catastrophe of transportation.

In the end i'll all get sorted. But that'll take a massive fightback by fans to reclaim their own club's identity and force it front and centre again.

I’ve genuinely really enjoyed being inside the new ground. Facilities, access, new neighbours I sit next to are sound too.

But the lack of Sat 3pm’s is a killer for a non local season ticket holder like me.

But I would also wager many will jib their season tickets off like me, for just how crap & sanitised football has become.

We love a good full blooded tackle. You cant do that anymore.

Nothing beats the magic of ‘limbs’ after a goal goes in. Hardly anyone celebrates anymore due to VAR.

For me, the game i loved is gone. It’s boring, overly sanitised and overly interfered with by Premier Leagud & PGMOL.

My 11 year old son doesn’t even celebrate a goal now as he’s waiting for VAR to rule it out! It’s heartbreaking to see.

They’ve killed what was the best league in the world. And that’s another big reason I’ll not renew next season.

Unfortunately, they have a 25000 strong waiting list that will give them some leeway. At least 5 years worth of this season plus price hikes.

And that's before you factor in an expansion of using companies like Seat Unique to sell off individual seats for inflated costs.

I'm afraid anyone hoping for someone to 'think about the fans' is going to be disappointed.
I hope the 25k figure is true but I think it’s an urban myth as I don’t think from what I have seen we have sold out our allocation not counting the away end there have been lots of empty seats all over the stadium and I know they are expensive for 1 off games but you would think the likes of Arsenal would have completely sold out

I don’t think it’s as serious or as bad as Dave is making out, but I get the impression he knows more about it but sterile is a great description of what has happened. You’ve ripped a club built on tradition and locality and rammed them into a corporate box and expected similar results. If you’ve ever watched Trading Places, that’s exactly what’s happening at HD.

Hopefully some of the atmosphere issues improve if more who want to shout go in lower south next year. In the meantime, some of the many who clearly miss how it used to be could do a lot worse than going to Goodison for the women’s derby next month. It doesn’t look great on the tv and needs more people, but lower Gwladys is still great, and no one looks at you as if you’ve got two heads when you try and stsrt a chant (unlike upper south stand, east stand and lower north stand from HD visits this season).

I feel the same. It’s not one thing it’s a load of things added together to make me just not like footy that much anymore. I go the game and I’m bored. Ok if we had an exciting team to watch it’d be different and perhaps it’s a lot of disappointing years in a row I just think sod it. I’m really not that arsed anymore.

Every time I see that figure it goes up. Fact is there loads of tickets on the resale platform so where are they all!

When we had discussions of how big a stadium it should hold I thought the waiting list was put around at 10k but I’m not saying the figure is incorrect as I know as much/little as everyone else but the math per games don’t add up to that type of number ,not sure the total number sold this year but I presume it was more than GP so say 40k that would mean say 60k plus want to go every game which should mean we should have sold out at least 3or 4 at least

This get mentioned a fair bit but never seems to acknowledge those seats have been sold more often than not. Seat Unique not selling out isn’t the same as the club not selling every seat.
The club will get revenue from empty seats bought by seat unique whether they resell them or not.

Whether to club should release more of those seats directly to fans rather than resale sites or not is a different argument.

All I know is only 2500 on the waiting list were offered tickets.

The ground is wonderful, amazing views amazing facilities, love the fact you can have a pint after the game, what it is it’s rather too much fun for opposing sides who seem to counter attack us at will every single game, the Monday/ Tuesday night games are a killer personally, night games are meant to be few and far between and therefore generate a special atmosphere when you have nothing but night games they lose that magic, getting two
And from the ground is a pain 35 min walk from kirkdale along a pretty soulless route , goodison had pubs/ residential houses here your wearing a midweek loss walking through industrial estates, it will get better ( it has too) but a combination of baffling tactics by the manager too many night games
And Everton behind generally poor has left it a chore atm to attend , we need a huge win, no better way to start than next Monday

Just looked and the premium league are saying after 13 home games we average 48,234 my response regarding this was the idea put forward which might be correct if all I know that the people who don’t renew there are 25k waiting to snap the seats up

Yes it’s definitely a mix of several factors, agreed.

I can’t travel 540 miles round trip to be served up the crap we’ve become accustomed to.

And that’s not a dig at Moyes or the players directly. The wider tangibles are what’s killing it for me.

- Lack of 3pm games
- VAR
- Really poor officiating
- Constant rule changing that negatively impacts the game
- Lack of atmosphere (mostly due to top 4 points)
- Financial rules to protect the ‘sky 6’
- Avanti
- Rising costs of everything
- Current logistics around Hill Dickinson

But more specifically the premier league & PGMOL I truly believe are ruining the league.

If you take the magic & passion out of football, what have you got left?

Sanitised football.
