New Everton Stadium Discussion

The small tweaks made from the earlier drawings have really improved it. The reduction in the size and width of the font of the 'Everton' sign has instantly transformed it from tacky to smart. The sliver reflective coating on the roof does kind of give a modern twist on top of the old brick warehouse type frontage. As someone else pointed out it's like a spaceship has neatly nestled between the dock buildings.

Just got to hope that you don't stand in the wrong place when the sun is shining and it starts to zap the floor like the laser beam in Goldfinger!
The top of the stadium seems to be like that so it reflects the sky and is less obvious so it just looks like a traditional brick building. Quite clever.

I think if am looking at it right, the picture in the 2nd is taken from the perspective of nelson dock - you can just see the bridge link from the map view to the left
I get that now, the only other thing that doesn't look quite right is that the second image looks as though the stadium has been oriented on and East West baring whereas the plans (and the club have confirmed) show a north south orientation? The side facing the river with EVERTON across the top looks like its an 'end' rather than a 'side'. Could just be the image.

It is the home end. The water in front of it is Nelson Dock.

Very curious but excited regarding the continual Blue Wave references.

I’m hopeful it’s going to be the significant design feature of the home end structure & roof.

Relying on Meis to have pulled a blinder here.
