Everton is proposing a stadium capacity of 52,000 with the potential for that to rise to 62,000 in the future, subject to further planning permission. The stadium will also be future-proofed for any changes in regulations in relation to safe standing. The design of two of the stands (north and south) will allow for rail seating and in future, should the law change, a safe standing solution.

Inside the stadium, fans would be as close as five metres to the action with all stands offering unobstructed sightlines. The overall design will also help amplify the noise within the stadium ensuring the best possible atmosphere. The home stand would be the South Stand and would consist of a single steep tier of seats, with a super-riser to factor in any future changes in legislation to accommodate safe standing.

whats a super-riser?
“As close as 5 metres?” How close are fans now? About 3?

There is a museum like the one on Albert Dock for slaves

we are talking 100's of years ago mate not 1980
You said 10 years ago it wouldn’t have been an issue. This is sadly true, yes it’s 100’s of years ago but unfortunately it has taken a looong time for many to wake up to the wrongs of the past. Many BAME people still experience racism on a daily basis and the only long term solution to this is to educate people of the wrongs of the past and just how they got here in the first place. Imagine being a descendant if slaves who now considers themselves as born and bred British but still gets ignorant people telling them to ‘go home’.

What has BAME experiencing racism on a daily basis got to do with Everton building a new stadium?

Are you saying we as a club should be apologising for the City's past?

The club have no connection to John Moore whatsoever. We already know about the history of the port.

Yes it's one of the reasons a lot of the Protestant population moved away from the vicinity of the docks as that area was taken over by (mostly) Irish Catholic casual Labour. Vauxhall incidentently voted in a Sinn Fein Candidate in the 20s
I lived in everton in a street off Breck Road from 1950 to 1967 and we had Ulster Unionist MP

We're building a stadium on a dock named after one of the city's most notorious slave traders.
We, as a club, are immensely proud of our history and are taking the next step in that story. The name Bramley Moore is synonymous with the city's historical links to the slave trade.

That is the clubs connection to John Bramley Moore

is it going to be known as the Bramley Moore dock stadium or do you think they will change the name once it's built?

Re the Super riser.
One of the things I like about the likes of the Lower Gwladys Street is that when the front row stand, this cascades up to the last row, meaning you have the whole tier all stood allowing for a greater atmosphere.

With a super riser, depending on its height, when the front row stand, this standing could only cascade to half way, meaning there's far less occasions when the whole stand is stood as one resulting in less often you get that big atmosphere you want.

Synonymous for about 3 years tops... Since all this BAME kicked off anyway.

That was my point.
