I think these top 10 target type things are to be taken with a pinch of salt.

If we got Europe this season and then again next season the owners would naturally move the top 10 to top 8 etc etc

There is no chance of Europe this season tbh. The chickens are coming home to roost on our painfully thin squad we left ourselves with.

Moyes is usually better with his teams 2nd half of the season.

Weve also finally got Dibling in to compete with Iroegnunam improving as well.

A couple of additions in the obvious areas and we have a chance.

Dont think the squad is as thin as you do. I just think its not been used effectively.

I’d say our squad is pretty thin when that’s the (not even full) bench

The squad itself has 24 players

GK: Pickford, Travers, King, Tyrer
LB: Mykolenko, Aznou
CB: Branthwaite, Keane
CB: Tarkowski, O'Brien
RB: Patterson, Coleman
LW: Grealish, McNeil
CM: KDH, Iroegbunam, Gana
CM: Garner, Armstrong
ACM: Alcaraz, Rohl
RW: Ndiaye, Dibling
CF: Barry, Beto

2 players at least for every position.

I wouldnt want any more than 2 players for every position and hope that we keep a squad of this size but remove players in January and summer windows and improve with quality and/or potential.

Lack of depth is being exposed atm with injuries and afcon, I look at the other teams competing for Europe and don't see very strong competition though tbh.

When conference league spots can go as far down the table as 8th or 9th, I would be a bit disappointed if we don’t manage to capitalise on what is a pretty weak league this season.

Well unfortunately it’s not a weak league, albeit we are lucky this season that 9 of them are playing in Europe - that situation is highly unlikely to happen again though. (Forest - who should by rights be in the conference league - finished 7th last season)

This season has been 'competitive' in that no one outside of the top 3 has really found any consistency. It's been very entertaining but I don't think it's indicative of a particularly strong group of teams.

More to do with a lot of teams massively underperforming. Only teams really unexpectedly overperforming are Villa and Sunderland and tbh I don’t even think either of them are really all that despite good results.

If we say the top 5 stays as it is until the end of the season - it's us, Fulham, Brentford, Brighton, Spurs, Palace, Utd, Sunderland and maybe Newcastle competing for the next 4 spots. I'm not saying it's a layup, lots of teams in the mix but I'm looking at those teams and other than Palace they're mostly looking pretty rubbish tbh.

I don’t think 9th would qualify for anything unless Forest win the Europa league.
Spurs and Newcastle will likely improve I imagine. With a striker and full back in January, then we could compete.

Its the most competitive league for a very long time.
As we see on a weekly basis any team can beat any other team , with many teams competing for Champions league and the other Euro comps.

The only people ive heard saying it is weak this season are that lot across the park.
