Did they interview more than one?Did they really have so many to choose from ?

I think moyes was actually a sensible pick as he's gotten everton and west ham out of relegation scrapes in the past while developing the squads and elevating them up the table I know it's not glamorous or electrifying , I eventually would like an manager like kovic or Johan Schmidt from abroad but where we're currently situated that's a lot to ask for a manager not familiar with the league to immediately start successful. Imagine if the bournemouth manager who I really rate took over for bournemouth mid season where were at in the table, it would be disastrous it took him going 7 games without a win to gain his footing. I get its a boring choice but moyes is so much better than dycheIf we go down a lot of it comes down to who the new owners chose to replace Dyche.
If we get relegated they chose poorly
The latter. He's a bit less pragmatic than Dyche.
He'll push us up, a bit. Full backs got forward more. Branthwaite pushed up. Doucoure spent less time in recovery position.
Will we get more goals and get more results on the back of it? Or just lose more like we did with Lampard?
Dave we won’t clean sheet our way to safety, to do that we will need a quality striker and winger to put away the very few chances we will create. The latter.
The only way we have a chance of surviving short of buying a shed load of quality attacking players this window is circling the wagons and taking a point in loads of games and the odd win.
Moyes will relegate us if he thinks he can get this team into an effective attacking force. You need to keep possession too if you're more expansive - even slightly more expansive - and we dont have players who can retain the ball.
IMO we'll need to reset in a couple of weeks on the back of two more defeats. These owners are going to need to take dramatic decisions and sack Moyes and hire someone else. Unless they want their investment cratered for sure. Come to an 'agreement' with Moyes that the return gig was a move both parties have reconsidered and feel wont work out.
Red faces all round but in the long run forgotten about and not damaging for each party.
I hope I'm proven wrong and Moyes takes us on a great run. But I look at him and he already looks shell shocked and making daft comments that'll make things worse not better.
The tragedy is we had Dyche and he could have eked out the points in a relegation fight with 3/4 other ropey teams. Under Moyes I highly doubt he will. He looks and sounds like yesterday's man. This will end badly.

And you think our attackers will snap those chances up?Dave we won’t clean sheet our way to safety, to do that we will need a quality striker and winger to put away the very few chances we will create.
We’ve just rightly so sacked a manager for that exact same thing, just pushing the fullbacks on more will help us a lot, if we’re going to persist with DCL then at least put the wingers on the predominant side so they whip crosses in, and/or instruct the fullbacks to get to the byline to that.
If we can get two wins together the confidence will grow and these players will play more to their ability, it’s not great but they are better than what their showing.
You believe that then you’re braindead. Lots of rumours they will sell Roma or at least sell part of them soon. Premier league is the place to beLet’s be honest we will be playing second fiddle to Roma…

I'm not sure that players now will sign for Moyes - who also looks like a glorified interim manager. In fact, I dont think enough cash is going to be made available in the window to change the situation around. Not addressing an inability to create or score goals has caused us years of high blood pressure.
That needed doing anyway, and 4 years go.
He doesn't.
He's been here less than a week and telling anyone who'll listen his options to create/score goals are pitiful.
Because they are - no Roman Dixon or Nathan Patterson was going to resolve. Nor playing Harrison left wing, or Lindstrom who hasn't scored a goal in over 2 years. Whatever way you slice it, this team is struggling for goals. As it has for many years.
I think the new owners coming in, and Dyche's contract situation can't be understated.
New players weren't signing for a glorified interim manager.
A lack of accountability, both managerial future and half a squad who can/will leave in the summer was kryptonite to Dyche's approach. As he admitted, players stopped listening to him.
3 years on the spin we averaged 41 points. 3 years on the spin we didn't achieve 'safety' until April/May. We weren't good enough to coast over the line
Our attack gets about 2 chances per game and they’re not clinical enough so we need to create more. That doesn’t just mean get better quality players (which I’m not saying we don’t need) it means attack more get more crosses in the box, get more bodies around DCL when we are attacking. And you think our attackers will snap those chances up?
That's a poor calculation.
Dyche kept us up for 2 seasons keeping it tight. \He kept it tight because we have poor players.
We already have the basis of a decent defence there, certainly when you compare it to the other 'bottom 6' teams. We did until we sacked him to be fair.
We were poor last season. Terrible to watch, relied on set pieces. It's not often acknowledged either, but we were also incredibly lucky with injuries.
But at some point you've got to bring them players in you say. Saying so, automatically made you a Dychette - but it's reality, that won't change under Moyes.
The question is whether we push players more forward will that resolve lack of goals. Maybe. Or maybe we just lose the draws;

Without risk there’s no reward, every team does it.
