I know people don't like odds being quoted but they are an indicator. Nuno is now 1/2 from 1/20 with SkyBet and Benitez has shortened to 3/1 second favourite, meaning it's not as done a deal as it looked.

1/2 is not too dissimilar to what he was when he was initially having talks and it went a bit quiet. It's a big shift. It's like going from 95% chance to 65% chance.

Please god not Benitez. That's way worse than the BFS appointment.
I really don't want Nuno but he is hugely preferable to Benitez
I actually don't think Conte is a good option either for all the reasons stated.
I'd prefer Conte to Nuno or Benitez though.
Why aren't the club looking beyond those 3?

Conspiracy theory time. The club leaked the Nuno imminent info to the press to hurry their real target into making a decision (possibly Conte or Gaultier?)

No, as a manager at the peak of his reputation (as opposed to on the downslope), who could walk into almost any top job in the world when they become available, he'll likely be significantly MORE disinterested.

Yes to this. I wouldn't say disinterested though as explosive. Ancelotti blended in, I'm not sure Conte would. While we would herald it as "dragging the club forward" or whatever, which it actually looks like is potentially a Mourinho type collapse.

Conte is a passionate manager. I see it as unlikely that he'd go somewhere and suddenly not care at all. I don't expect him to come here so not sure it really matters but I see no good argument for Nuno over Conte. Continuity is great but doing it for the sake of it with a negative, restrictive style doesn't really do much.

I was using his word "disinterested"... I interpreted it to mean that he could easily have his head turned
