So send the young right backs out on loan. The 2 right backs we have nearly have a combined age of 80, they're not reliable injury wise. Patterson has also shown improvement by learning on the job, and hasn't cost us any goals scored from his defensive duties. He's 22, he's not going to learn anything new in a lower league, this is where he becomes a premier league player or not now.
Disagree with most of that mate.
We have three potential right backs options in the squad for 18 games, if not more options in the squad. I dont buy the paper thin argument.
Look there are pages saying he has and hadn’t, I’m not going down the screen shot route. Personally I think there is a player there. I think what he’s missing is balance in game, decision making, confidence and expierence - none of which I think he achieves without games. Hes never had consistent games in his career and he needs them and that experience.
If he beats out Coleman and Young for game time, fair play I was happy to see him get games over Christmas, but I don’t think he will and I think it wont help his development sitting in the shelf between now and May.
From the club point of view we want Nathan starting in August, we don’t want not to have confidence in him and have to go out and buy a starting right back.
I don’t understand what people are so fearful bout, will only help and improve the lad.
