Charlie Sweet
Player Valuation: £35m
Needs a loan. Could then be a decent player.
Usual nobs this morning.
I'd rotate him and Coleman...I like him , no Gary Stevens , but you can see he has potential. Should start before both Coleman and Young IMO.
This whole thread is an embarrassment
Full of gaslighting old cranks with nothing better to do than try and tear down a young professional footballer's career
It's GrandOldTeam's shame
Hopefully no potential signings or their representatives ever come on these forums
Is it? We had finished 10th the previous season. The clubs planning will have forecast us to be finishing mid table or higher even if we had had a tricky start.Ha ha can you not take calm civil debate and comment? I've said I think he's a decent lad and could have something going forward but he's obviously very weak defensively.
This isn't his fault. It's just crazy the circumstances on which we signed him.
In the season we got him from Rangers he'd made 6 (six) league appearances and 4 of them were as substitute coming on late.
Why on earth did Rafael Benitez sign him? £12M up front. Of the £4M extras given we were a relegation threatened team and clearly desperate to sign him (we'd been on to Steven Gerard several times) then it's reasonable to assume the majority of those add ons are linked to staying in the league given we were (and are) a million miles from any silverware. And a 5.5 year contract. Just insane.
As I've said if he was an Academy graduate he'd not get any not this attention. Its because we literally got a 10 point penalty for financial incompetence like this that frustrates people
Joey, you cant teach a defensive mindset. You have it or you don't.In a game where for the first time ever as the whole team was pathetic in our MOTM poll has not one vote, the trolls pick on one player - FGS grow up -

I remember Stones when he was here and I said at the time he was never a top class defender and that he looked a central midfielder like Carrick.
To me Patterson is a wide player. Play him there or nowhere...certainly nowhere near a defence.
The jury is in. Never mind he's 22 years old and 'needs to develop'. You cant plait sawdust.

interesting how your choice of language has changed from last week when you were making out like we had spent potentially 19m on his transfer fee.
Coleman at 22 couldnt play right back and needed to developJoey, you cant teach a defensive mindset. You have it or you don't.

Trolls , WUM's ,Multi's all pretty easy to spot Joey , first thing they do is hide their profile. In a game where for the first time ever as the whole team was pathetic in our MOTM poll has not one vote, the trolls pick on one player - FGS grow up -
Strongly doubt he'll be loaned our given out paper thin squad.Needs a loan. Could then be a decent player.
That’s not what you said.It is easy past £19m as a total investment yes.
So specifically £16m and then “another 2 or 3”. So 19m.£16m with bonuses linked to us staying in the league so that's another 2 or 3. Then a 5yr contract at £70k a week. For a raw kid from poor league it was financial recklessness on speed.
