2023/24 Nathan Patterson

That's unfair. Patterson has been poor since he arrived other than one game: the derby.

No one is capable of persuading a lot of other people against their own judgment that Patterson is not a PL player. He palpably isn't and that's why you see this reaction.

He was poor yesterday, but he very clearly hasn't only had one good game here

He played a load of games last season where his mistakes were THE reason we lost points.

This season he's started off with another mistake that's lost us an easy point there for the taking.

I really dont think the burden of responsibility lies with me or any other critic of this player, it rests with those defending him against the evidence of his PL appearances so far.

There is absolutely no way he is Coleman's quality even now when Seamus is almost 35 years of age.

Garner is there to play in the meantime while Coleman gets his fitness. We have to take that option because we cant afford to have Patterson in there.

Any of the other options, Cannon, Danjuma with someone else wide right, Chermiti, use DCL off the bench etc

Just not Maupay because he's less effective as a striker in this system than Michael Keane would be

Well he ain’t playing Cannon or Chermiti, Dom isn’t fit and if Danjuma is up front who’s wide right because he won’t play Gray.

It’s all well and good given scenarios but only when they’re realistic. I’ve just categorically proven why we can’t loan Patterson out and why Garner shouldn’t be a right back (he’s not even remotely fast enough for that anyway).
