Why does this non-story seem to be everywhere? He's a kid we clearly deemed isn't good enough, otherwise we wouldn't be letting him go to a crap team.

We may have a few flaws as a club, but bringing youth through isn't one of them.

not exactly true, he may he not wanted to sign a new deal and have had other reasons for leaving? Perhaps he saw his chances of making our first team limited with the emergence of Davies

...been discussing it in the transfer thread. My take is that his contract is up in the summer and we were not offering him another. The head of West Ham's academy has liked watching him for England youth and thinks he could be a late developer. The Hammers have taken a punt on him.
 

West ham are the bigger club remember? (See below) David Gold showing that he can poach any of our players at will and we are powerless to stop them...
