"Moyes is prepared to extend his stay at the club. He can expect a big rise as Kenwright is aware that the bigger clubs are always likely to have his bright manager on any wish list of replacements."

That's the bottom line, cos Davey said so.

So when he's not pulling up results at the start of the season, can we call him a money grabbing cnut?

Oh FFS........

Another 3 years of utter ****e football...

Lets celebrate.

Although, I tend to agree with your sentiment, I think that Jelavic at the start of the season should bring brighter things. IF we can get a couple of players In then I believe we can kick on, but you just never know what ur gonna get with Moyes at the helm, well we do,4-5-1 negative football.

Well played by Moyesy, he's been canny by allowing the Spurs interest to unsettle Kenwrong and help him negotiate a new contract. Always helps to have a couple of employers on the go.

50 more years Davey....sigh....

£3.5M p.a. presently apparently so any new improved deal will no doubt put him well in excess of £4M p.a. - he'll be one of the highest paid managers in world football...challenging those at the very elite of his trade...you know, the people who are actually successful at the job.

Of course, he gets that money because he is completely safe as houses in retaining Everton's Premier League status and the tv money that goes with it. For our board of directors who simply want to limp on without any inconvenience until they get a massive offer for their shares, £4M p.a. is a good deal.

They're all in it together. Forget Moyes' horseshit about being ambitious (he'll do as he's told and sell who they tell him to sell), Moyes and the board are all in the grifting business. They're basically con-men offering a product that isn't actually there to gullible people who they know cant help themselves falling for the con-trick.

Moyes, Kenwright, Earl, Elstone...they're all cut from the same cloth as far as I'm concerned. I feel nothing more than revulsion for them.

We can't afford to increase his already ridiculously high wages.

Would it be naive/stupid to suggest that Moyes may be willing to not get a pay rise and sign on with his current salary?

I love Moysey (sorry) but I've been incredibly pissed off with him with not coming out and categorically refuting the Spurs link, only for him to be signing this new contract a few days later. All it does is say to me that he's in it just for the money. Suppose I can't blame him if I was in his position, but you'd have thought that after 10 years with the club loyalty would have come into too. I truly believe that if Spurs had been offering more money than this current contract offer on the table, he'd have gone.

If it is a new three year deal Moyes will be back in the same position 2 years from now (in terms of re-negotiating). Not sure if I'm right but haven't previous contract extensions been for a longer term than 3 years?
