Moyes States Collina Fix Belief

I'm the best ref in the world, who are you?

I don't know if anyone has mentioned it but there is still the Killbane thing.

Already booked, in the later stages of the first half of the game he committed a poor foul which was a second yellow all day long and Collina let him off with a talking to.

If he was paid to throw the game surely he would have jumped at the chance to send of Killbane?

Valid Point.... to an extent.
However at the end of the first half we were 1-0 down and 3-1 down on aggregate meaning that away at a club like Villarreal we were very very likely to be knocked out of the competition. Collina then can officiate without any bias and if anything at this point in the game he is probably more likely to make decisions in our favour to totally eradicate any suspicion of bias or fixing.
My point is, he needs to make it look as unsuspicious as possible and it was only when we made it 2-1 that alarm bells started ringing for him as we were then in pole position because one more goal for us would have meant that they would need 2 in such a short space of time.
It's definately fixed, there is so much corruption in UEFA and particularly in Italy and thats where he was from. The corruption in Italian football has been made public so it shouldn't be too hard for people to believe that this situation would happen.

Didn't the Dunc "goal" even it all up at 3-3 on aggregate with 2 away goals apiece? Or has my memory finally gone?

Yeah i was kinda wrong on that, but that goal still wouldn't have sent us through as some people claim it would, just to extra time.

After that who knows.

It wasn't just the goal that was shocking - his entire performance that night was a disgrace.

Whenever the ball got anywhere near the final third he'd stop play. The most inept (or corrupt) referring performance I've ever witnessed.

Lets be honest the Clattenburg and Atkinson Merseyside Derbies are probably just very bad officiating, not fixing. This Collina example however is fixing and its disgusting.

Atkinson I'll give you as it was one poor decision (sure there were a few other minor ones aswell like) and he was tricked by Suarez. But Clattenburg was 1 after the other of absolutely horrendous decisions. For me the worst one of the lot was sending Hibbo off after Gerrard had a word in his ear. Having given the foul (where Stevie did his best ever starfish) yes you have to send the player off, but he had a yellow in his hand until St. Steven had a word in his ear. Not to mention the Kuyt tackle or the 2 blatent pens we should have had. Clattenburg was banned for a year not long after the match and isnt allowed to ref at Goodison again. I think he's a big player on the gambling circuit myself.

The derbies are what happens when one club tries to put the ref under as much pressure as possible to favour them and the other doesn't.

Stuff like Poll disallowing Hutchison's goal and Atkinson sending off Rodwell are a direct consequence of refs just buckling under at the idea of ruling against Liverpool in a derby.
