Stating it was a fix is a bit RAWKish. Very strange decision to bring a ref out of retirement for one game. Has it happened before or since??

Agree with this. I still think he cheated us, not through corruption but through an utterly horrendous refereeing performance.

I find it hard to believe it was just a horrendous decision.
If he hadn't come out of retirement very conveniently for our game knowing afterwards he could drift back into obscurity having had a stellar career, I would be more inclined to agree. The fact that they didn't want 5 English clubs in the competition - and quite frankly we were the perfect fall guy compared to the other English clubs in there, means I simply can't believe it was just a bad decision. Surprised at people saying otherwise to be honest.
