Moyes pre Stoke Presser

I dont think so. He's a got an ego as big as Jupiter. He'd be horrified if he lost the support. He's well boxed off in the boardroom where they love him for keeping their investment safe; the trick now is to get fans onside so there's no recriminations when or if it goes pop during the course of his next contract. He's not daft Moyes. He knows it's starting to smell funny.

When what goes pop?

give it to Redcoat Moyes cant stand the fella

Look, Moyes is respected still...only just for some, btw. He's not getting any new money, so he'll continue to fail to get a trophy and it'll all end in tears.

His call, but if I was him and another post (any other reasonable post - not just the 'bigger' job he's touted for but doesn't in reality deserve with his limited skills) presented itself I'd take it, because his reputation will be in tatters if he signs up and takes this club into its 21st year without a trophy. He'll leave a complete and utter failure 14 years in one job and never lifting silverware.

Well, we know what those conditions are now since he stated investment isn't vital: he wants money from players sold and he no doubt wants his wages sorted upwards significantly.

The goal is a fresh looking team for years to come.

Put another five years at least on the 'years since winning a trophy = 18' counter.

I'm done with Moyes. He can sling himself in the Mersey for all I care. He's stood back since 2009 and seen the playing side ripped to pieces and now he's on the verge of extending that for the next few seasons on a promise from ohe of the biggest liars in football that he'll get a sell to buy plan in place.

Utterly pathetic. He's as big a fraud as Kenwright.

and with who to replace? Done a bad job has that moyes lad.

you do realise money is needed to win silverware on the whole. Bet you would be happy to win the carling cup and then get relegated.

He hasn't done a bad job; he hasn't done a great job. This wouldn;t be the man with the golden touch leaving...not that he will be, he value that massive wage way too much to chance his arm elsewhere.

He's such a contradiction at times recently. This is more from today's presser:

http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/footb...toke-david-moyes-1791911#.UVYYVVFMOd0.twitter

“I want what’s best for Everton Football Club and if people say it is best for Everton that I stay, then I would agree,” he said. “But I have to make sure Everton has the best opportunity to try and continue where they are, and push on from where they are.”

He added: “I’m waiting on some information coming back to me and we’ll talk again when we get all that information. I can’t say what the budget is and whether that will be enough until I get the breakdown and see how it will all work.

“A sabbatical is not in my thoughts, I either stay or go to another job. They are the options I’ll consider, but I am not planning to have time out.

“It may be that I’ll be in a position where I am out of work if I chose not to stay here at Everton, because I do not have a job to go to - there is nothing lined up
.

“I am not planning to take any more than my summer holidays. Football management comes with its own stresses and it’s a big job, but I think I’m too young to have time out.

“I may get sacked, I may be out of work so, hey, I’ll have to take a break, but no, it’s not in my plans.”

Is that a big concern with some fans? That we could only win a cup if we fight relegation but won't win one if we fight for top 5?

That nuts

It ain't though. In Moyes time in charge five english league clubs who have spent less money (portsmouth, birmingham, blackburn, boro and swansea) have won trophies and seven clubs plus us who have spent more have won bugger all.

You need money to win the league, grabbing a carling cup takes no such thing, just a manager who can manage a cup run which moyes can't.

Tbf I think he treats his press coffee fe and the hour is with contempt at the best of times, I wouldn't take anything said at one to literally or a general indication as to the truth of what's going down.

I do love the spins that certain newspapers with certain agendas put on things.

The Mirror interprets the latest turn of events as: 'Show me the money: David Moyes hints at quitting Everton unless he can splash cash'.

Whereas the Daily Mail interprets it as: 'Moyes hints at extending Everton stay after dismissing sabbatical rumours'

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2301271/David-Moyes-sign-new-Everton-deal.html

If you take what Moyes is saying at face value, it would appear he's trying to squeeze as much money out of Green/Kenwright as he can, before he commits.

But as he keeps changing his story at every press conference (until now, he'd led everyone to believe there had been no talks, so as to 'keep the focus on the team', now he's 'having talks all the time'), I'd take everything with a massive pinch of salt.

If this was a player acting like this, running his contract down, you'd be certain he was on his way, so I see Moyes as being no different.

We're 6th in the league.. six points behind 4th, with a game in hand. Yet most of you are calling for Moyes' head?

I don't feel the need to say anymore.
