Player Valuation: £50m
Boro are trying to dig in over yakubu by demanding £12.5 million, but moyes is never held to ransom, if an offer actually was made then its a signal that moyes wants the player and you can still expect the deal to be done - on moyes terms not boro's.

Cheers Monts.

Or Wagner Love, for me anything over 8 million for this cat is a waste of money.

Boro fans can't believe we've offered so much for him, it is a bit like us selling BT, [Poor language removed] daylight robbery:P

remember when we got 3.5 for Linderoth.

Must have had to keep a straight face when we shook hands on that'n.

I think you are a little bit unfair to Linderoth. He is a brilliant defensive midfielder, and had great succes for FC Copenhagen, taken them to 2 consecutive championchip and qualifikation for Champions League. I read an article that Moyes sad that he as the most talented midfielder we have had, but due to personal issues he didn´t succeded. He is proberbly the most important player for swedish national team after Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

That is all true - about his time with FC Copenhagen - but the Danish League is really bad, and FC Copenhagen has made a trend out of buying players who flop abroad. Just look at the list:

Jesper Christiansen - Rangers
Jesper Gronkjaer - Chelsea, Birmingham, Stuttgart
Nicklas Jensen - Fulham
Marcus Allbaek - Aston Villa
Hjalto Bo Noerregaard - Heerenveen

None of them could get a game and are now "stars" in Denmark. Basically if you're [Poor language removed] player you'll still succeed in Denmark.

I'd rather spend 7 million on that Alves cat, and then really [Poor language removed] the smoggies.

34 goals in 31 games or something like that in the Dutch League.

Aye but as good as the dutch league is, it aint the premiership, so its still uncertain how he would fare here. While Yakubu on the other hand has proven he can do it in there.

But gotta be honest, £12.5M is giving me a bit of indigestion.

I agree we need a striker and i would like yakabu but not for that money if we have 11 million to spend and i mean if what about martins or mccarthey

Martins, whats his goals/game ratio? And Mccarthy is about 29/30 isnt he?

I think both would complement what we have better but i would still be happy with yakubu.
Just on mcarthey i,d take him tomorrow but i,d only pay about 7 mill for him

This has gotten really interesting. Remember my basic economics bit in the other thread? we'll, near as I can tell, we are the 'only' actual bidder for Yaks and now he is missing training. Boro has no leverage on this deal and will likely have to cave in to our price.
