Of course I am not talking about their footballing style, Moyes's is dogged while Wenger's is fluid. Nor their aggression, Moyes is Scottish while Wenger is French.

It is their transfer policy that strikes the comparison.

Wenger was once the cause of much amusement among a lot of gooners being obsessed with purchasing left sided midfielders. Something Moyes has seemingly contracted.

Wenger once had six left sided midfielders playing in one team, now Moyes has signed an expensive left sided midfielder and is closing in on the loan on banega (a left sided mid) while there has been talk of another left sided mid in the pipeline.

The thing is, we already have, our left side sorted, correct me if I'm wrong, it's our right side that needed sorting. Right back, right mid and two centre backs is what the doctor ordered.

left sided centre mid - not combative enough for a central role under Moyes - will only be employed as a left winger.

He's a centre mid.

I very much doubt he's played on the left once in his whole career to be honest. I think he could do a job there though, given his attributes.

Combative enough? He'll probably be a creative central midfielder, Moyes is loaning him because he can pass and make things happen. Not because of his combativeness.

Wouldn't it be a disaster if we made all the mistakes in team selection and squad building Arsene Wenger has made over the years.

Baffled by this thread.

By signing one left sided midfielder?

Banega isn't a left sided midfielder.

Whos this other left sided mid?

Pienaar isn't a natural left sided midfielder - he's right footed for one. For this reason I would expect Pienaar to be stuck on the right - please god, can't take Osman right wing anymore.

We've hardly had an abundance of left sided midfielders. I am tired but wasn't our last natural left midfielder Kevin Kilbane?

Our midfield is going to be very fluid, I can see Pienaar and Bilyaletdinov (I spelled that right without checking..Go me!) swopping flanks often.
