Moyles is well out.
Moyles is well out.
RS game actually me thinks.
Moyes has quite rightly been slated this season and at the end of the day we all want everton to win.I hope you're eating your words now! Those of you who slate Moyes, Howard, Neville, Louis etc... MERRY CHRISTMAS! We played as a team, even with 10 men. No egos, no messing, no fuss!!!
Last night - 10-man win away against a good team. Solid, organised display in the main. 11 on 11, City had 56% posession, and hardly penetrated. Not bad for a team containing Silva, Toure, Tevez, et al. We didn't keep the ball as well as anyone would like, but we were without Arteta and Pienaar. Fel was deployed very well, and clearly Moyes has seen City struggle to break through two banks of four a few times this season.
This season - a single win doesn't redeem any manager for a poor campaign, but the majority of teams this season will feel like they've underperformed. There really isn't a massive gulf in quality anymore. If we were to win three in a row from this point we'd be 7th or 8th and in with a shot of europe. I'm less happy with Moyes than I was six months ago, but there is NO way we would benefit from getting rid. Conservative tactics and substitutions are irritating, but it's exactly the same style that got us three successive top six finishes. I think we're all frustrated at feeling SO close to the 'top four' a couple of years ago, only to see Spurs and City leapfrog us. But Moyes isn't to blame there.
Player Ratings
Tubey - 2 (tactically naive)
Chico - 7 (solid performance but no fireworks)
Bret Angel Left foot - 8 bossed the thread
Tx Bill - 10 MOM.
Neonleon - 5 Never really got going, although his President Kennedy rebuttal was sadly under appreciated.
So beating a mid-table team at home is a better result than beating a team who are in the top 4 and could have gone top last night in their own back yard? *facepalms*
