i think im buzzing more for this derby than any other derby ever. even the fa cup semi final last year. im just buzzing for it. we go into the match 4th in the league, probably slightly lower depending on other results but we can go 9 points clear of them already with a win. im just buzzing, absolutely buzzing lid.

Sorry mate, mods pls merge.

He talks of wanting to win a trophy, well for me this Sunday is a dry run.

I'm fully expecting P24 W4 L14 by Sunday afternoon.

He just doesn't give a flying one about this fixture and his remarks and team selections on occasions tend to prove it.

Moyes: played 23, won 4, drawn 6, lost 13
Smith: played 8, won 1, drawn 3, lost 4.
Kendall mark 3: played 2, won 1 drawn 1, lost 0
Watson: Played 1, won 0, drawn 1, lost 0
Royle: Played 5, won2, drawn 3, lost 0
Walker: Played 1, won 0, drawn 0, lost 1
Kendall mark 2: Played 9, won 3, drawn 3, lost 3
Harvey: Played 9, won 1, drawn 2, lost 6

Kendall mark 1: played 20, won 4, drawn 5, lost 11
Lee: played 12, won 2, drawn 6, lost 4
Bingham: played 6, won 0, drawn 3, lost 3
Catterick: played 25, won 8, drawn 7, lost 10
Britton: played 7, won 2, drawn 1, lost 4

Looking back over the last few years, nothing has infuriated me more than our usual bumming by the RS.

I just can't figure it out without sounding a little bitter. The first thing i look at when the fixtures get released is the home and away derby dates. I start making plans with friends and clearing my schedule for those two dates.... amongst other things. I get the impression a massive percentage of our players just don't quite get what the fixture means to fans in the city. Body language tells it all as they wait for the first whistle.

Its not a mental block either as we have a manager who has admitted in the past to playing/setting up for draws.

Buchan and Carey never played a derby because the RS were languishing in the second flight at the time, of course.

The away record doesn't bother me so much, it's the home tally which is a total disgrace.

People say that it's just three points, but it's way more than that. Matches like the derby are what add depth to the history of a club, they give you talking points for decades like that goal by Sharpy or the 3-0 Johnson game. A rivalry like the one we have with Liverpool can't be manufactured, it's something that's gone on through generations and it's that which makes it such an important game, imo.

Anything but a win on Sunday will be unacceptable.

Managers by win and lost %

Royle: 5 games, won 20%, lost 0% = +20%
Catterick: 25 games, won 32%, lost 40% = -8%
Lee: 12 games, won 17%, lost 34% = -17%
Kendall: 31 games, won 25%, lost 45% = -20%
Britton: 7 games, won 28%, lost 57% = -29%
Smith: 8 games, won 12.5%, lost 50% = -37.5%
Moyes: 23 games, won 17%, lost 56% = -39%
Bingham: 6 games, won 0%, lost 50% = -50%
Harvey: 9 games, won 11%, lost 67% = -56%
Walker: 1 game, won 0%, lost 100% = -100%

Has this record changed in the last week or something?

ffs we all know that Moyes record in derbies has been poor & I'm sure there's no-one more acutely aware of this fact than him. He's given them too much respect at times & surrendered the initiative on occasion, but to hear some of you speak you'd think we were used to twatting them every season. Our record against them has been largely ****e for my entire lifetime.

Joe Royle ruined me for other managers.
