Most underrated player in an Everton shirt?

I was always a big fan of Stuart McCall. I don't think I've seen a more skilful player than Preki either. Robert Warzycha livened up our play with his pace. Tony Cottee isn't considered an Everton great, but he bagged 72 goals in 184 games. Andy Hinchcliffe did great as well.

Definitely Tony Cottee for me.

Players who got too much stick include Earl Barrett, Carl Tiler (although he barely played for us) and Craig Short.

Maybe Joe Parkinson but I think most people realise he was good, if not necessarily how good.

I'm so glad it's not just me , I remember a goal at spurs away on national weekend I think ?

Yeah he ran to the Spurs fans jumped up in the air and gave a double middle finger to them for some reason.

He is always remembered for his Derby miss at Anfield but in the same game he hit a absurdly good shot from the corner flag that almost went in.

Shout out for

Radzinski
Naysmith
Weir

all of them unsung heroes back in the darker days.

Osman, as has been mentioned, rarely gets the credit he deserves. He's been solid for us for years.

Matteo Ferrari during his brief spell, was played out of position at left back a lot too. There was a particular challenge, right side of the dugout, where a player (think it was vs Bolton) went to turn him from a throw in. The challenge was summed up beautifully for me by a blue who described it as "Ferrari went through him like he'd raped his missus". Went back to Roma and did well there before leaving. Think Moyes said it was between him and Lescott who he signed. Essay this.

I would say Alan Harper one of the few players who could play anywhere on the pitch.

Also a small mention for Kevin Richardson he was unlucky with having being in the same team as Reid and Sheedy - was always able to come on and replace them when needed due to injury etc and scored vital goals.

You could say during our golden period there was number of unsung heroes who have since been forgotten about but played their part in helping to win the club cups.

Saw Ferrari a few weeks back in Houston. Partnering Nesta in the back with the Montreal Impact.
