Most underrated player in an Everton shirt?

He was inconsistent here but I thought Thomas Gravesen was a very talented footballer, and could have been excellent in a better footballing side. As soon as we got some movement around him (Marcus Bent) he was excellent, and had the vision to really open up teams. Something we lack at the moment.
I always thought Joe Parkinson was a good player. I'd put Leon Osman in there aswell considering all the abuse he gets.

That, right there is why I think Billy would love playing behind Beckford.

He got a double leg break playing for China and never fully recovered. After his first season here (on loan) he only played 5 games for us in 3 years, then he went to Sheffield United for a while and is now playing in China.

Massive shame that.

IIRC we also signed another Asian player at that time, didn't we? What the heck happened to that one? :P

Li Wei Feng or something like that. Never made it. It must have been the year we finished 7th I was thinking of for Li Tie. His work rate was excellent and he wasn't just a headless chicken either. I think he got people around him working harder. Was that the year we kept the record number of clean sheets?

Li Tie made 31 appearances in 2002-03 and we kept cleansheets in 29% of games. The following season, when he was injured for the most part, it went down to 26%. I would have thought there would have been more in it. We finished 4th the season after that with cleansheets in 34% of games. This season it's only 19%.

Li Weifing went on to earn 106 caps for China, scoring 13 goals from defence.

* walks in*

how about Frannie Jeffers and Kev Campbell partnership, good scoring record if my memory serves me well.

* runs out and awaits abuse *

Vaughanny was asked on twitter which were the best players that he'd played with and answered Baines, Pienaar and Fernandes. Towards the end of his time with us, while Arteta was out, Manny provided virtually all our assists. Not sure how underrated he was, but he was a class act.
