Moshiri On Lukaku Contract Refusal

Majority shareholder Farhad Moshiri has released a statement through Jim White/Sky Sports news following reports that Lukaku had turned down Everton's offer of a new contract.

Moshiri: “It’s not an issue. We have a strong relationship with the player and his agent. We are very happy with Romelu and want to reward him.

"The club is committed to an improved contract for the player.

"No-one should worry. He’s our player"

Even if he doesn't sign this year, he won't be going unless the club receives an offer deemed acceptable, which would be around the figure of the rumoured buyout clause holding up the discussions you would imagine.
If he stays another year and we don't get CL in that time, he leaves for a few million less.

On a slight tangent is Jim White/SSN now the official media arm of the club? Doesn't the club have it's own press office? Actually I think the clubs own publicity is so bad that I prefer the Mosh/Jim/Sky axis

The main thing in our favour is that Rom won't want to remain on the wages he's on for another 2 years when he could double them. I wonder if they're just haggling over the buyout clause.
