Monarch Airlines

I've flown with Monarch once or twice and my parents have used them for the last 3 or 4 summers and have had no problems whatsoever. It's not amazing but it's certainly not Ryanair.

I flew with Thomas Cook this summer and had an awful flight home. The seats were at an acute angle and my knees were tightly packed against the seat infront, I didn't sleep a minute for 4 hours. I thought they were meant to be decent too?

It's hardly long haul to Verona , and we aint long of leg so packing us in isn't such a problem.
There isn't a lot of choice to that part of Italy tbh and it just so happens that this is by far the closest, 20 mins away, whereas Bergamo is over an hour in the car, by bus and train probably 2 1/2, with Verona we can get a taxi as it's so close.
The Ryanair from L'pool to Bergamo stopped but now goes from Manc instead, the times aren't good for if transfering by bus etc. and it was more expensive by about £200 with less bags allowed, no confirmed seats etc. was a 'mare as we all had to sit apart coming home.

If the times had tied in then Manc- Venice was £200 cheaper than Verona, the train transfer would be €75 return, but the times don't fit for doing it with kids, easy peasy as far as getting from airport onto train and direct to where the camp is though, possibly the easiest but 2 hrs by train.

It'll be the Manc-Verona one that we book, I was just wondering if they ever drop the taxes as that's what's cheaper with the Venice one.

For anyone fancying Lido de Jesolo or even Venice for a weekender then those flights to Venice are ideal, the airport reopens soon as it has been closed for 2 years. Venice itself is nowhere near the rip off that we expected, on the way home ffs the city guide in the ryanair mag told you how to see/eat/drink there on the very cheap and experience what the locals do. Some right flash arse beach resorts close by as well.
