Regardless of how it turned out, I wouldn't agree that it is that level of shock.

That being said, it's 11 years later and there's a totally different landscape. It isn't remarkable that a PL club can pull a signing like this off.

But, it is a statement of intent and shows we mean business. Now throw in Zaha...
