Just read an interview with Neil Warnock who said that he recommended Adam Wharton to Eveton under Sean Dyche before he left Blackburn Rovers for Palace.

Wonder why we didn't move for him. Appreciate at that time we were financially hamstrung but we were making some signings and he only went to Palace in Feb 2024 for £18 million.

Did we go for someone else or did Dyche simply not fancy him?

Probably thought he couldn’t to the “ hard yards” you know “ the ugly “ side of the game and his bleep test numbers wernt good enough … he doesn’t like players that hold and control the ball he wants players that can chase after it

You've answered your own question - even if he'd wanted to we didn't have the money at that time.
