I didn't see a lot of him last season so just sort of went along with the idea that he was very promising, despite the fact that the one time I did watch him he got absolutely done by Lukaku.

We've been terrible this season - which hasn't helped - but individually he's been pretty poor. Gets turned far too easily, no pace to speak of, and cumbersome and awkward on the ball. He's also not particularly aggressive in the air, while his concentration defending set pieces has been appalling at times.

Still a fairly young CB who has evidently shown some quality at times, so I wouldn't be kicking him out the door just yet. But he really needs to up his game considerably.

...we simply can’t play a high line with this lad in the team or we’ll get crucified, I presume having a deep back four was part of Walsh’s playing strategy otherwise we surely wouldn’t have bought Keane. The trouble with playing deep is that we struggle to get up the pitch.

It’s all such a mess.
And the trouble with playing deep is that we can't defend crosses or corners. Apart from the top 6, the vast majority of the rest rely on set pieces and corners to get goals or create mayhem/chances. They must love playing us.
Stoke can't wait to get 3 vital points.

Seemed solid during his first couple games for us, seems a lifetime away now.
Doesn't look prem standard at all.

He’s shocking. Barnes’s simple runs where mind boggling to him. He didn’t know where he was all afternoon.
