2018/19 Michael Keane

It's actually extremely frustrating that from open play we have really shored up, It's unforgivable to have let in so many set pieces. Keane is actually being the architect of his own downfall.

Tbh, I wouldn't be bothered if neither player are here next year.

I like both of them overall. They just keep making the same mistakes over and over. And while I'm happy for the respective managers to take the blame too, I don't know how much more coaching will do for them because the errors seem so basic.

I'm not desperate to sell Keane. If he stays in the summer it's not the end of the world but if we want to progress then ultimately he can't be our first choice.

Zouma - I wouldn't be going out and spending massive money on him, let's put it that way.

I see what you mean. Zouma is by no means a top player but he's still young for a CB and has a lot of positive parts of his game which you can't get from coaching like his pace and ability to time a tackle.

There's a few things that aren't great in his game but I think they're coach-able or can get better with experience. I don't think Keane can every really be the answer for us where Zouma has potential at the right price.

Hard to know when there's no certainty on:
  1. How much Chelsea would want for Zouma.
  2. If Zouma would want to join permanently - I imagine he would but it's hard to say when a player has been at a CL club and could want to stay in the CL.
  3. If we can shift Keane for a reasonable amount - I'd hope we could get £20m in today's market especially since we paid £25m+ and the likes of Alfie Mawson is £20m
I'd much rather us try and keep Zouma and coach him to improve than take a risk on a player from another league who could be worth nothing if he flops (see most of our signings in recent years).

Loves creating out-of-nowhere free kicks for opposition, best at it. Completely useless in my book.

Bit cringe worthy reading his comments about referees tonight. Not something I like to see. Especially not from someone playing in a defence making catalogues of errors.

Mentally weak players are crippling us.
