Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

Morning toute le monde ,

So first day post Sassy , I think we all miss her wit , wisdom and kindness. In my humble opinion she was the most kind hearted poster on GOT . Terribly sad that , for whatever reason, she has been banned. I'm certain that we will miss her .

Curates egg of a transfer window. Much stronger in defence and midfield but undoubtedly weaker in attacker. Not sure we will score enough goals to stay up , going to be touch and go.

Weather permitting we are doing a stall at Ormskirk Market tomorrow which is great news because I won't be able to watch us getting stuffed in the Derby.

Apart from that have a good weekend everyone.

Morning all.

Shocked to see Sassy is gone, not entirely sure what someone with as big a heart as her can do to earn a perm ban whilst the forum is still littered with WUM's strutting their tiresome stuff.

If she reads this then I wish you all the best for the future and I hope you stay blue.
Don't think she can/ will Tommy but I will pass on your best wishes to her.

I have just watched the interviews with Gana and Garner and I feel those two with Onana is going to be a formidable midfield ,where though does Iwobi fit in as he seems to have found his forte ? No extra striker is sad but they will be setting up enough with the players we have .So glad Gordon didn't go and it won't do him any harm learning from Frank and the team .
If you would have told me these signings at the end of last season I would have been chuffed . I think that Kevin Thelwell has been a revelation so far ,what we hoped for with Brands and more , he has even moved on players .
I think Garner will have to bide his time. Think it will be Gana Onana and Iwobi… Unless we go 442 then Garner comes in and it will be two of DCL, Gray or Gordon

If everyone is fit I see Garner as a bench player.

I hope he plays 433 or if he insists on 5 at the back 532.

We simply have to play 3 in midfield in which case it it should be Gana , Onana and Iwobi in midfield either way.

A 2nd choice midfield of Garner , Allan and Doucoure is stronger than last season's starting midfield.

Only problem is scoring goals!

If we play 442 ( can't see it) then presumably the 4 would be McNeil or Iwobi , Gana , Onana ,Gordon.

Disappointing news about Sassy this morning. I don’t know the circumstances at all but safe to say she will be missed around here in particular.

A mixed bag of a transfer window I guess. Major upgrades in defence and midfield but relying on DCL to get and stay fit is a gamble I personally wouldn’t take. Having said that, Gordon seems to be kicking on and I think Maupay will surprise a few people. Maybe even Iwobi can start chipping in now he won’t have to track back as much.

I like what Lampard is doing here though. Mixing youthful hunger and pace with a few experienced heads. It’s been a while since we’ve had a manager with a plan for the longer term.

Towards the end of the Leeds match , I think they had a goal kick , I looked at us lining up and it was an obvious 4-1-4-1. Looking forward it could be back four- Gana- Grey, Iwobi,Onana,Gordon- striker.

Just had a rather strange encounter with a cat. It never budged when we walked right past it, Daisy stopped to say hello and it didn't bother but then it started following us and poor Daisy didn't know what to do with herself. I started walking as fast as my crappy legs allow and it was chasing us, D was trying to run away but on lead, it was very strange, we managed to get away in the end, mental cat lol

You try to temper the optimism .
