I put Christy Moore’s new album on today while I worked and ended up with it on repeat. Wonderfully powerful yet gentle at the same time. Ukraine; Palestine and Belfast all get a song each, difficult listens but can’t be anything else I suppose. I chose a lighter one to share, a beautiful ode to Cork

I have never been hugely into him but the new album has got a lot of press coverage here. I have been missing out and a deep dive into his back catalogue with a few beers is on the agenda. My nephew Christy , strangely enough, is named after him and my mrs used to regularly play the album Voyage when getting our eldest off to sleep as a baby. Where did those 33 years go ?.

She sounds remarkable. Hopefully she adapts to her (potential) limitations and carries on enjoying life.Morning all, another brilliantly sunny morning up here , weather has gone mad the last three days , i think we’re getting everybody else’s sunshine.
The saga of Bessie, our 2 year old cat , took another positive step today. 6 weeks ago she returned home after being missing for 5 days and had a wound to her tail and what an XRay showed as a break in her tail bone. The vets were unduly pessimistic, talking about paralysis and taking off her tail , which seemed nonsense to me at the time. Anyway, we’ve kept her indoors, looked after her and two weeks later tail was funny functional , although we were advised to keep her indoors until 6 week period was up and XRay her again. Following yesterday’s XRay they are now saying it is a dislocation which will never mend, and could still cause problems, paralysis etc but she has been remarkably healthy and active and desperate to get out. So we let her out this morning and watched her scamper over the grass, and run around a bit . She’ll always be a worry as something untoward could happen to her back/ tail but we’ve decided to take the risk and let her out as she’s not an indoor cat. I’ve followed around the garden a bit, it’s like watching your kids walk/ ride a bike for the first time , but she’s out there in the sunshine as she should be![]()

Sounds like you are fully over your bout of illness now. The need to rest up has probably also helped your game with all the recuperation.Evening everyone,
Me and Mrs J had a couple of beers down the pub and now chilling with a good glass of red listening to Non Stop Erotic Cabaret by Soft Cell ( not played it in years but sounds wonderful in vinyl).
Played the best TT in years last night and beat 2 players that I've struggled against like forever .
Trump win ....yeah it's bad , terrible actually but Mrs J is spot on .. what the f can I do about it.
Have a lovely weekend and avoid Everton peeps
