When I lived there you were either brave , stupid or knew someone to go in the Eagle and Child! Tended to stick to the Blue Man or the Clock in Prescot .

Talking about Huyton. Mrs J's dad was never out of the Conservative Club on Longview , behind Hathersage Road.

Before my time but when Harold Wilson was the MP they had placards in the garden and in the windows for him. The powers that be at the Conny Club complained and he told them to f.... off. Apparently they never raised it again lol

On loan ? Interesting I thought this was the last year of his contract ? Good pick up for Plymouth that.

I had to laugh at the pundit on the radio. She was Scottish but her sister was playing for Ireland and scored directly from a corner . She was understandably excited and biased. However when , on half time, Canada equalised it was a "lucky goal" . Not sure there isn't a fair amount of luck involved in scoring directly from a corner either lol.

Canadian goal was very lucky!!
