Just seen that Flybe has gone into administration again, which is bad news for Newquay Airport, as the company was based there after starting up again last summer. It's a real shame as they provided a much needed service for the regional airports and none/low profit making routes. They were planning on reintroducing flights up to JLA from the summer which would have been great for me.
I'm quite lucky really. We had been planning another trip up to Musselburgh races at the beginning of next month, but decided against it due to the rail strikes that were planned for around that time. As it happens, my flights up to Manchester would have been cancelled. Fortunately, Loganair are recommencing their flights from Newquay to Manchester from mid February, and given that Flybe will no longer exist they will hopefully keep a limited service going throughout the winter months too.
