Everton not signing him doesn't mean the rest of your narrative is all true. It could be as simple as a loan vs buy disagreement between the clubs, or being unable to agree a fee, or him failing a medical.

So unless you've had a heart-to-heart with Depay and he poured out his feelings to you, forgive me if I take what you say with a bag of salt.

we will see mr cowboy.

yeee haaa

I'm glad this has gone cold, how many United rejects have we had over the years?

A bit different this one though isn't it? One of the most exciting prospects in world football only 18 months ago. Still only 22. Clearly massively talented, and will have a point to prove. It'd be worth the gamble if we could pull it off.

It's not like we are signing a Phil Neville or a Gibson.

I think we will end up with a loan to buy, probably 20m. They can't sign a player for 25m, deem him not good enough yet still demand their money back in full. I'd be delighted if we can take him for 6 months, see how he fits in and then decide if we want to make the deal permanent. If we can get Depay, Schneiderlin and possibly one or two others this window, I don't think a late surge at 5/6 in the league would be out of the question.

Anyone who doesn't think Depay would improve us must be a bit simple.

Based on his scintillating form for Man Utd?

Hardly a stretch to say he might not be suited to the league is it? If we get him he could thrive under Koeman and might enjoy being a 'big fish', but people have every right not to be entirely convinced just yet.

Loan with a view to buy for me, unless the price is ridiculous like half what they paid for him.

Depay will be end of the window if at all is my guess (yes insightful I know)

I do fancy us getting him, he would be a goal threat.

If Koeman is trying to recreate what he had at Saints, Pelle Tadic Mane.

Pelle target man, mane constant goal threat from outwide/central and Tadic the creator.

Tadic the creator, father, son and holy spirit

I think this one will go down to the wire also and depend on anyone else coming in with a permanent deal for him. It does look as though any chat of him moving are all based on those coming in wanting loan deals - still no one willing to take a punt on a permanent deal from the outset.
