If we sign him, he will be the flair player that we haven't had in ages. He is SKILLED AF... just need to see more end-product

Actually he admitted live on Dutch television a few months ago that he's a fan of the boy Depay. That's were this thread started from.
I must have overlooked that. I am not sure it changes my opinion much on this subject though. I think Memphis struggles in the premier league and hasn't been able to catch his mojo back. People change their mind I am inclined to think Koeman has more pressing needs with this team at the moment. In a roundabout way I think he would gives us a little pizzazz but has a pricey tag to go with it. Time will tell of course.

I personally thought you'd be dead set against this signing to be honest

He's young and has alleged attitude issues

That's usually a death knell in the "Book of Goat"

Some players are worth the effort and besides, everything ive read regarding Depay suggests that he has a great attitude to training.

His issues are more in his head, unlike that little rat Saido who cries when he cant get a move.

Sometimes the magic comes with a cost.

Reading redcafe most of them are saying he apparantley has a good attitude and trains hard etc and that that side of things is not an issue. It's just he's been a bit crap when it matters on the pitch, but not through lack of effort.

He seemingly gets unfair grief for basically being materialistic and dressing like a bit of a weirdo.

The bad attitude seems like a bit of a myth, even Jose has been praising and said he trains hard.

He's the Lewis Hamilton of football, without the success.....yet

He's got potential, £30m is a lot to pay though, can see why they'd push for the loan
Exactly this. Don't doubt his potential for a second, never have, just worry about his mental state of mind. The boy can definitely play, that's not the issue. Could become one of our best deals in the modern (PL) era, but also carries the risk of becoming a complete and total faillure

Are we actually trying to sign him though ?...I have seen us linked with him, but when Utd are prepared to release any player we are invariably linked.
If there was a loan deal with an option to buy, then maybe . However, I think Utd may be insisting on a sale as they are afraid the player won't impress on loan and will be sent back to them and they are then stuck with him.
