I know you can only be a mascot if you're a season ticker holder or have a Foreverton membership (she has this).

Just wondering if anyone has any further info on what the process for being drawn is, as the odds must be stacked against you (assuming there must be hundreds if not thousands of other kids in the draw too).

Does anyone know if this is just for home games, or away games too? And has anyone heard stories of what's actually included in being a mascot, other than leading the team out at the beginning?

Reidy is the man to ask about this I think

Sure his little girl has been a mascot for the derby

I have recently been chosen to be a flag bearer for the Sunderland game on Saturday. I think these sort of things are chosen at random as i knew nothing about mine. Probably not much help but i presume that maybe the mascot is chosen in a familiar system.

Mascots are drawn out from Junior S.Tickets and Foreverton membership.
Toffee Lady is from Girl S.Ticket Holders in I think the family enclosure only, this may have changed since the new season ticket deals but was the case when Olivia twice did it.

They told me the Prem games are drawn out at the beginning of the season, we found out about 2 weeks before the Derby.

The 1st Time she did it was a cup game, and cos the fixture time was dependent on how r/s did in a replay they had to leave it until then (r/s lost). It just so happened that I enquired about how they select them the following morning, when someones task was to 'find mascot and toffee lady' for F.A.Cup game, so luckily right place right time. I believe there are other ways i.e. PAY, a mate made a donation to Phil Nevilles Charity and his daughter was mascot, she got his match boots and shirt thrown in for the £1500 ish.

The mascot (freebie one) gets a kit, Prog and some comp tickets as well, 4 I think ?
Toffee Lady gets prog and comps.

You arrive quite early and the kids get to go in the dressing room etc to get shirts signed etc. butties and brews laid on for adults and kids. Then it's pitchside to do the mints and kids get to score at the st.end. Teams come out and they do the pics and shiz, then off down the tunnel, job done.

I got sidetracked a couple of times when in close proxiity to leaving breathing r/s like KING7 though and couldnt help myself.

And given that there must be a big pool of kids to pick from for the mascots, I'm surprised that yours has been chosen twice. So you reckon mascots for all home games this season are already drawn??

Haha, what did you say to Dalglish?!

Would you like a mint ?

"Aye, go on I'll have one"

Here you are Ken, seeing as it's you, you can have 2.
Hand on shoulder patting as I lean to his ear and say "Cos you'll get feck all else today" and a quick disappear down the tunnel, he was still sucking the feckers when Rodwell walked ffs.

I had em all tbh in the build up to the match, it's documented somewhere.

It's saying I haven't got permission to access that page....shame.

So what else can you tell me about your daughter's mascot experience. Did she like it, what does she remember most about it, etc?
