I've spent all afternoon on this.

I've messaged all prominent Palace and Watford fan sites, some have started spreading the message.

Doesn't look as though Man Utd or West Ham have been targeted yet, but I'll still be messaging Man Utd/West Ham forums shortly.

We've managed to gleam some good information on the scammer, at one point I was very close to nailing down a definite, exact address. Work continues.

Over 80 were messaged, out of all replies so far, I'm glad to say the vast majority didn't proceed.

2 reported so far to have been scammed, 2 more than we've ever had and gutting.

Very appreciative to those who reported the incident to us, and the fast acting of our moderators to stop what could have been an avalanche...

Maybe GOT can inform the Red Echo about this active scammer. Hopefully they can run the story, or at the very least tweet a warning or two about it themselves.

Unfortunately, we've recently been alerted to an issue which we need to make you all aware of.

We've had a ticket exchange thread since 2012 without incident (Well two reported, but both resolved amicably).

Unfortunately, we're pretty certain that one person has very recently signed up and attempting to use the ticket exchange to scam Evertonians.

We've messaged every member we believe received a private message from 'Adam18' (later, 'HannahM') and alerted them to our concerns. We'll also be passing every detail we have of this person (IP address, telephone number, email address) to authorities and other fan sites as we believe this person is targeting fans of all clubs at Wembley every season.

I'm also taking the unusual step to list 'private/personal' account details below, to assist with any search engine search.

To help mitigate that risk, we recommend;

• Don't ever pay via direct bank transfer. Use Paypal as this offers some added protection.
  
  
• Where possible meet face to face, ideally at one of Everton's remaining matches and exchange in person.
  
  
• If a person attempts to communicate via GOT private messaging, texts or other messaging services rather than through an open forum, please be cautious.
  
  
• Use the search function in the thread to see if the poster has offered tickets before, contact via private conversation anyone who appears to have bought from the poster in the past to verify.
  
  
• Check the poster's history on this site - has the poster registered here recently or been here a long time? Ask yourself why a poster would just register and offer tickets at face value for such a high demand game?

I am the second person who got scammed. I just got overexcited at someone offering me 2 Manchester United tickets. I live in Germany so it's hard for me to get any away credits so I jumped at the opportunity completely letting my guard down.
The thing is I have never had any bad experience with any Blue so I trusted him. Obviously he never was a Blue.

I'm just so, so impressed with how Grand Old Team have responded. Thank you SO much for putting in so much time and effort.

regarding the adam18 guy ripping people off i spoke to the bank and the account the money went to is a nationwide in swindon.

Due to me now not having tickets for watford away, im looking for 2 adult tickets please
