Match day pub routine

Not got a proper routine as there’s so many options with it being round town but have been the pheonix before the last two matches and enjoyed it there.

They have the games on, decent pint, not too busy and only around a 15 min walk from the ground.

After the game I walk into town, go the cornmarket for one or two, watch the late game on my phone and get me and the mrs a chop chop for tea.

I think what’s quite obvious is the desperate need for more places and quickly. I recently went into the terrace bar and had one beer and left because the amount of people pushing past was rubbish.

It needs a few smaller style boozers like the Melrose and the Leigh arms. Old style pubs. Just to disperse the crowds really. I would have hated to of taken my dad who’s almost 70 to that terrace bar. Older people need a place to sit and get off their feet. I wish I had the dough and I would have bloody made a pub there myself. Who wants to chip in?

I wake up in my boxroom next to my sister where my Ian Rush posters adorn my wall. I try it on with my sis but yet again she turns me down and calls me a weird 50 year virgin, but I dont care cos today is Matchday, and de mighty reds are playing at home!!!!

I take my Stevie G PJs off and time to pick out my kit for the pub. Do ai choose my classic Candy kit or go for for Hitachi? Get dressed and sus the weather out to see if I should wear my King Kenny coat or not.

After sging my badgers and pray to the God of Shanks I touch the This is Anfield sign as I come down the stairs and leave my house.

I get to pass all the Evertonians who are on the way to Lime Street for their away day and it's my time to remind them how many times Libpool have won the Champions League. In that moment as they head the match and I head the pub they know I am better than them because it means more.

As I go there I like to tell as many peoplr as possible that Im going to watch the Libpool match do everyone knows Im a big red.

I watch da reds on the tele and we we have a boss laugh lad, we get to look down and everyone cos weve won the lot and after the match we have a full on tactical analysis and conclude that the our goal mouth scramble winner in the 15th minute of injury time should be contender for the Puskas award.

We then go home and I have a w.nk over my posters and post on here about how were great.

Edit. Damn wrong forum.

Don't really have a routine, just whatever I feel like on the day. Surprised the pubs on Vauxy aren't busier than they are, but I'm not complaining when I've gone in to town and walked that way.
Went to a couple of them the other week they were actually not bad at all . Very reasonably priced and decent staff .

Id love to but I think you’d be amazed at how much properties are going for , I know people who’ve tried to buy around there and the costs are huge . I suspect things may sort themselves out over the next few years but it’ll be a long hall .

To address your post as well don’t think small Properties present themselves as viable , if there not currently pubs then the work to make them compliant removes too much space . Running a boozer on 2 games a month isn’t particularly viable and if you have space you maximise it hence the issue with tables .

I also think a lot , not all , are owned by people looking to make a profit and not those with decades in the trade leading to a bit of a short fall in what punters want .

Again I do think people looking to charge insane amounts of money for a lease may be rethinking it and that might see new arrivals but it’ll be a while til things are sorted out .

They had a guy with a megaphone outside the HowardKendallsuite trying to entice people in with "Drink deals"
Be a great view of the ground fom there Tbf

I thought that place was meant to be 'premium experience'? (Or as premium as it can be in a container, like).

Must be going well if they're trying to drag punters in off the street with cheap ale 🙈
