The lad has completely lost his focus. Something has changed him, possibly just money, a relationship... who knows. All he has added to his game this seaon is a sharper haircut, chewing gum, snorting something live on tv and cutting holes in his socks like that man city defender. Needs to be taken out of the team and taken down a few pegs.

It's an utter disgrace if this fella is judged to be our best option at right back when we've known for several years that it's a priority position to fill and don't even have any injuries in that slot. Awful recruitment, or rather, lack thereof.

Feel slightly sorry for him,he is not a right back his best games have all been as a centre back . If he is not in the team at centre back then he should be on the bench. His play going forward is poor and pairing him up with Iwobi is not the answer it completely weakens our right side going forward. Can't understand why we have left ourselves so weak in the back four when we knew that position was going to be a problem last Summer.

Hes a centre back playing right back. Remember Jagielka? Remember the odd game Stones had at right back? David Weir? Or Ratcliffe on the opposite side? Even Lescott struggled a bit at left back but his goals kind of covered it up a bit. Judge him on his centre back performances. How would Keane who is potentially player of the season get on if he started having to play out there? He is an 8/10 at centre back a 6/10 at RB with a 5/10 RW in front of him.

He is behind Keane, Godfrey, Mina and Digne at centre back. I really don't think he has a future at the club.

He's not behind Digne in the queue. He's only not being considered at CB at moment because we don't have a viable RB. Personally I would consider swapping him and Godfrey round as Godfrey has more pace. However that extra pace also allows Godfrey to do a lot of sweeping up work so taking him out the middle might not work. It wasn't long ago as part of the 4 CBs Holgate was even doing ok at RB. However he quite clearly was going to struggle eventually. He definitely has a future at the club if for nothing else the fact he is adaptable. Maybe with a better player on the RW he wouldn't be as exposed.

Just not even close to being a right back, can't cross, can't turn quickly when opposing winger runs at and past him ( at which point he invariably just gives up ), gives stupid free kicks away and regularly booked for tackles in which he flies in ( almost certainly will be getting a red card soon). Is he a good enough centre half? Not sure on that front either. But what an awful decision by Ancellotti and Brands to let Kenny go out on loan. Possibly threw away Europe with that one as let's face it the right side of the team is a broken shambles.

Pairing anybody with Iwobi is the kiss of death. He looks okay when we play the four centre back line but if you expect him to morph into a top RB,never happen.

He’s not commanded a place at CB over these last few years. Keane has. Mina and Godfrey have made stronger claims than Holgate. He needs to have a sit on the bench and have a think why he’s there.
