He was totally lost today, it’s not his fault though, it’s one thing to ask him to play as a right back when his primary role will be defending, but, tonight he was expected to play a much more attacking role. He is a defender and just doesn’t have the skill set for an attacking full back role.
I can see that Carlo was trying to keep Coleman and Siggurdson healthy for City in the cup, but, with the injuries we currently have, any attempt at rotation is a gamble. He gambled that the team he selected would have enough to beat Burnley, the injury to Pickford cut down his options for a tactical substitution as he could only make two outfield changes.
A bad day at the office, let’s get the City game over and use the international break to regroup.

It really was a shocking decision by Ancelotti. It completely hamstrung us before a ball was kicked.

Holgate, Iwobi, Gomes really poor against Chelsea.....yet all 3 get a start and we even changed system to accommodate Iwobi on his preferred position

Abysmal management and I expect well better from a quality manager who is so experienced. It looked like a cobbled together hoping it might work
