they are both completely culpable for going into the season with DCL as our main striking option and not getting someone more established in as a 3rd option centre back to replace Zouma.

As for his comments about not replacing players they sold, we all know that’s nonsense. Gbamin was signed to replace Gana, he’s just been unlucky with a long term injur.

Why would any manager agree to be judged on results on that basis?

We brought in the wrong bloke. It happens and there’s no shame in it, but we can’t keep giving him time purely because he doesn’t lose his next game. You just have to hope we’re really doing some due diligence and we get lucky with the next one.

I dont defend Silva now. I just know he's only half the problem.
