Why do people keep thinking a new manager means going back to square one?

We have a DOF now - his job is to sign the players and pick the system.

We dont have managers anymore we employ head coaches.

Marco Silva is head coach not a manager.

Sacking Silva 'should' not change anything but the actual coaching/tactics/motivational work and formation/player selection of the new head coach.

Completely different situation to when we sacked Koeman and Alladyce

He doesn't though...Brands clearly has no impact on the field apart from signing the players and wanting the club to go a certain direction aka young players buy low sell high/academy etc.

Not at all. I'm saying if there is a better manager we can get in then by all means go for it. Right now, I don't think there is. We would likely end up with someone of similar ability and be having this conversation again in two years time.

I mean im not suggesting we stick with a lame duck, but people have this impression that Jose would replace him, he wont, it will just be Marco Silva in a different suit and with a different name.

I also find it really weird that people say Moshiri(and////Usmanov) would be OK with this. They haven't spent £400m to be AVERAGE. You don't spend money on finishing in the most irrelevant position possible. If you want to make money on being average be 15th. Don't need to spend that much and you are safe mostly every year. You spend £400m because you DEMAND BETTER than what you currently are.

Recruitment this summer has been terrible. We’ve signed a young striker who has potential but going to take him time. If anyone thinks we will do well with silva - are clueless
