Dave, have you scrubbed 9/10's of the season from your memory??

Impressive stuff

There has to be a realism when assessing a manager that has had to come into a footballing operation that has been one of the worst in the prem for most of the last 5 years. Multiple groups of players bought by different managers with no long term planning with no incentive to either improve or move club. A mentality ingrained within the team of utter failure, a refusal to play away from home, and the usual doses of ‘Everton that’ moments. Remember this is the same team that over recent seasons had players banned from training, had players fighting to take penalties off each other, had players coming onto tv questioning the manager whilst working as a pundits, had a player fighting with opposition fans. Our squads have skirted along with no discipline, no standards, and no challenge whatsoever. Their modus operandi has been to fail enough collectively to fire a manager whilst maintaining their own profiles just enough to keep lucrative contracts. They’ve tried it on this season too with Silva but I’m glad that it looks like we might have a manager who can survive it and make the necessary cuts. He’s already rid the basket of a few rotten eggs. The fact he got a tune out of Schneiderlin tonight shows that he now knows he won’t play if he behaves as he has done the last season. It’s time for Everton to trust a manager to make the changes necessary to finally rid us of this pathetic player mentality we have. They’ve treated this club like one big lads holiday for far too long.

Tl:dr

Any panicking that we may be sucked into a relegation battle can be put to bed now. Still 10 games left so Silva will see the season out at the very minimum.

Another win on Sunday and confidence would be sky high again which would put us back on track for 7th. Which if achieved, would guarantee him being here at the start of next season and a transfer kitty for the summer.

It's all about confidence. You could see tonight that it is slowly returning although Richarlison needs to get firing again - managers live and die depending on the performances of their players.

Hoping it comes together, as the last thing we need is to be starting from scratch again.

Richarlison form is puzzling.. Esp as he says silva is a father figure.

You'd expect him to put it all onthe line every single minute

He just looks sulky and half arsed

Made up we won like but that first half was a worry. I was actually starting to think did we actually create more chances under Allardyce. Once we got the second things looked good, I just hope we start like we finished from now on.
