So, with his thread being ( quite rightly ) closed in the Everton forum for a second time, this is a place to talk about the current Watford manager, and not about a watch you can buy on eBay with his handsome face on it.

When they're losing games, we should use this thread to laugh at Watford fans, err, I mean, sympathise with them about their plight, and when they're winning, just plain old-fashioned ignore them.

We dodged a bullet with this guy - (at some point even i started to warm up to the idea that he would have been our manager, luckily that didnt happend) - Plain and simple. I said before yesterdays game wich they lost 1-4 that Silva might actually get them relegated.
His facial expressions yesterday were "You didnt let me go to Everton im effing gutted and players sense that too, so heres the end product of that ffs"
The fact is that he cant set up team that defends well. Clearly he knows this and desperately tries to work on this problem of his but that process might mess his palet totally. Yes, they are a suprise package to be one of the three relegated teams imho.

Not surprised their form has failed off so drastically. The fella wanted to come here 100% and was denied the chance to speak to us. He was fuming, the players know he wanted to go so they are now in a bit of limbo and now you'e got Watford fans saying they should have taken the compo.

Of course they should have taken the money, once someones head is turned that's it as far as I'm concerned. He'll probably lose his job end of the season and the Everton job will probably not come up again.

I still like him, and they are still in 9th ( soon to be 10th ) so all so far it's been a decent season for them.

I do want to add though to all Watford fans on here that I can confirm your Pozzos are knobheads so please refrain from talking about them as if they are the greatest owners in the world.

We will need to watch his progress with great interest. He has that x factor that could be in the mould of a Jose or Pochettino, no point turning our noses up at him (yet) but he will have to prove he can run a defence properly or have an assistant coach who can for him.

Like others have said the Watford players know he doesn't want to be there and are not putting in the same shift as they were, plus indiscipline have really hurt. Surprised they bother anyhow given the owners penchant for turning over their managers each season, hardly a stable environment. This does mean it may be hard to tell if he is the right person for a bigger job at the end of this season though and that makes it a big old risk if he becomes available.

He's Martinez mark 2 ...just forget him relegation on his CV and heading for another one.....swerve. FFS he threw away a 2 goal lead against us !!

In a way,for the watford fans, its probably better they have a bad run with him been there, than having a bad run when he was gone,as they could quite easily have blamed silva going to everton for there bad run,if he did come to us

I am not laughing anymore.

I have been hoping Watford get beat these past few weeks but there is no logical reason for it as I have always quite liked Watford FC and it was always a pleasant and safe away trip.

And the town in general....my sister lives there and I am a pretty regular visitor.

We asked them for permission to speak to their under contract manager.....they knocked us back.

As they were entitled to do and they showed more spunk than us when United wanted our under contract Lukaku..

I never thought Silva was all that anyway and could not understand Moshiri’s relentless, Koeman style pursuit of him.

In short.....I think a bullet has been dodged and instead of us hating on Watford because so many of our friends on here let a couple of Hornet fans wind them up we should be thanking the owners at Vicarage Road instead ;)

Silly muppet should have had his agent seek assurances behind the scenes - aka get "tapped up" - then resigned on the spot and grabbed the biggest job opportunity he may ever have with both hands.

By not doing so, we're seeing the end result. Terrible mistake for him. Don't think he's a bad manager to be honest but he reeks of Martinez at the same time, and not just due to his nationality.
