You haven't answered HK. How would you entice those managers given the situation we are in now, and do you believe it's a good idea to spend all the money on those managers and their chosen signings considering out current situation? This is your plan for after sacking Silva so how done ending and can we do it?

Then if you agree we cannot get them, or that it's not a good idea, what kind of manager do you expect them to get and how long will you give them next season if it's not going well?

The 'what if' was not an excuse, it was a question as to your opinion on the risk of that happening at this moment in time with the club.

Silva is not going well. I agree. We just disagree on how much blame is on him and how much on the mess of a squad he is attempting to sort out. I wouldn't completely disagree if he was sacked in the summer, but if you are posting every day about getting him out the door I would have thought you'd have an idea of what the club can do next.

Why not make it easy for him, list a load of questions for him to answer ?

That way he can`t keep dodging the answers as he is doing now lol

Then you have an agenda on certain people. You said you would struggle to support the club while they are here (or if). So results don’t court, it’s whether you like him as a person counts.

No HK. I'm a pretty normal football fan. I hate that last manager we had. Which is a pretty common feeling across many fans of premier League football, and amazingly enough I also don't like the arrogant former manager of our main rivals and wouldn't want him to manage us. Amazing eh? There's a world of football managers out there. There's only a couple of them I really dislike.

Didnt want him then, dont want him now - but Allardyce knows what he’s doing and is probably a better manager than the one we currently have. People saying he’s stupid and dont know how football works should look in the mirror. Most manager doesnt make it in this league, BFS hasnt only been a main stay, he’s been doing the actual hardest job in management - and succeding every time. If its ‘just’ playing with everyone behind the ball, why arnt other managers doing the same when in a bad spot, and stay out of the relegation battle? Nothing is that simple in football, and a lot more than ‘just’ putting everyone behind the ball goes into staying up.

I simply cannot agree with this. Allardyce knows how to stop you getting relegated. He knows how to grind out or nick wins against crap teams. That doesn't make him a good manager. He is a specialist. If he were a good manager he would be managing Arsenal or Chelsea - but he is not and he never will. He will continue to manage those needing his services, and we, rather foolishly, imagined we were in that boat last season. We are likely the best team to fall into that traap hence the best team he'll ever manage. He can stop you from going down but cannot raise you up.

Sake.

I am not doing a job of a ceo, who is supposed to entice a manager to this club. I have repeated said it’s up to the board. If the ultimate ambition of this club is to complete with the top 6 then go and employ a top manager. If not and the people up top believe midtable (like 11th) is alright in mid-long term then perhaps keeping the current manager in charge is fine. A Dol is supposed to ensure there is a continuity in the transfer activities or else why is he employed?

Your assumption of those proven manager would want an entire new expensive squad is imaginative. If a proven manager is agreed to join he is agreed to manage a club and be able to get the best out of the squad. That’s what a competent manager should do while adding his own players.

If you accept mediocrity is fine then why do you bother to sack Martinez? Just be happy and get 11th every season.

The season hasn`t ended yet.

Stop behaving like a pissy pants little school girl :coffee:

Because you can foreseen what’s going on after 30 games if one has a brain. You don’t need an A in your gcse to figure it out.

Same, I can think of 4 Managers that would probably prevent me from attending games whilst they were in charge.

Fat spunk bubble Rafael, who again for the record is 3 points worse off then our current manager and has already relegated them once.
Shiny teeth tranny banger Rodgers
Rat Billic
And Plopp

I dont care what they have won or even what they will win in the future, some things are more important to me than results on the pitch.

Yes, im very bitter.

BFS is not on the list for you?

So you don't know or have any ideas on how to get a top manager or if we can

You want to shout Sack each day and Get a Top Manager, but there's no thinking behind it. You just expect it to be done. It's up to the board. Show ambition! All so easy to demand.

It's not imagination to suggest those managers would cost a lot and would want major signings when taking over. You don't seem to care about the state of our wage bill and how that affects us.

I don't accept mediocrity is fine. Don't make up arguments.

Given where we are at, if we sack Silva in the summer or next season, we will most likely get another promising manager from the continent to fit into the DOFs plans. IMO. They may have a better track record than Silva, but they will be another gamble. They might even have a poor first season. They will need time and patience.

I worry that the kind of manager we need to get us moving in the right direction, might not actually be able to succeed at the club right now because of this need for instant success and looking only at results and nothing else.

Agree totally. On the Spanish waiter view he's sort of labelled himself as a bit of a firefighter nowadays at Newcastle so not what need at all, regardless of his cv.

Forty five minutes is a long time in football. I would guess there was very little criticism of the manager at half time.

So disappointing after two creditable results and the opportunity was there to make it three.

At least there are some positives and most of them lie in the recruitment from last summer where Richarlison, Digne,Gomes and Bernard have all been excellent for long periods. Zouma has done well also but maybe not as well as the others. Minna has been the only disappointment but a fresh start after a full pre season may help him do better next season.

I think it is more than likely we will not be changing manager next summer and I do think it will be hectic as Silva has to recruit and sell well during the summer and get off to a decent start next season or he will really come under severe pressure from very early days.

Sam was told he was getting the 18 months, i can understand why he gets annoyed but just wish he would stop going on about it, it's not like he was'nt compensated for his time here.

From what I read at the time we offered him till the end of the year. He said no and wanted longer in addition to his back room staff.

Then Southampton away happened. We buckled and gave him everything he wanted just to come ASAP.

He was always gonna get binned off at the end of the season. He knew it, we knew it, but got what he wanted so he'd be well compensated.

The feller isn't soft. He knows the game and got a payday.
